On our first full day in Tokyo Toshi took us around on a fabulous "little bit of everything" tour which included the Senso-Ji Temple and Nakamise Arcade, Tsukiji Fish Market, Hamarikyu Garden, Imperial Palace, Ginza Shopping and Omotesando Shopping Districts and the Shibuya Crossing. We even enjoyed lunch together Japanese style sitting on mats in Tsukiji. Toshi was personable and knowledgeable and we enjoyed conversation about everything from Japanese culture to economics. He was timely and polite and never once did we feel rushed. He met us at the hotel in the morning and took us back to the hotel at the end of our day. He also showed us how to navigate the subway system for the next couple of days on our own. It was truly a delight to spend the day with Toshi!
Dear Grace-san, Thank you for the excellent tour review. We visited various places in Tokyo. You surveyed well about nice tourists spots. Unfortunately we couldn't visit all places you described, but you understood that the itinerary was effectively organized. In Tsukiji, my original plan was to sit on normal table. But Tsukiji market was extremely crowded because it was almost the end of the year. We needed to sit on Japanese Tatami mat room. It was difficult area for western people. But you accepted it positively as Japanese style experience. You were very cooperative. Thank you very much again. Best regards, Toshihiro
Toshihiro was an extremely professional and extremely personable tour guide. My fiancé and I were in Tokyo for the first time and wanted a tour to get acquainted with the city. We are so glad that we found Toshihiro who took us all over the city and showed us a lot of the sites and gave us the confidence to explore the rest of Tokyo on our own. Pros of Toshihiro: - passion for his job - on time pick up - in depth knowledge on the history of Tokyo - personality that is laid back and fun to spend a day with - concern for what we wanted to do Cons: - none to speak of, not a single con to the tour. Highly recommend Toshihiro!!!
Dear Michael-san, Thank you for the excellent tour review. In Japan, new year's days are very special. Many shops, restaurants and tourists' spots are closed. But some areas like Shinto shrines and Buddhism temples are extremely crowded because most of Japanese people go there for the new year's wish. Your tour was done during this special time. It was very inconvenient time for tourists from overseas countries. But you were patients and supported me well. I know I need to express gratitude for your such behavior. I am also glad to hear that you could explore the rest of Tokyo on your own. Summer time in Japan is very different. Please come to Tokyo again in warm season. Best regards, Toshihiro
Toshihiro walked us thru Tokyo public transportation from Suica card purchase to visiting Tokyo station as a practice run for our First trip on the Shinkansen scheduled the following day. It was well worth it to have him as a guide as well as photographer. At the end of the day, we learned to ride the metro, learned interesting facts about ueno, the fish market, and had many great photos. Thanks Toshihiro!
Dear Tri-san, Thank you for the wonderful tour review. You are a street photographer and you have a very expensive camera. To tell the truth, I was not sure whether the photos I took for you were good or bad. I am relieved to hear that I was good as a photographer. I enjoyed walking with you and I learned what is nice photo targets in Tokyo for the American street photographer. It was important experience for me. Thank you again! Best regards, Toshihiro
I absolutely enjoyed my tour with Toshihiro. He developed an itinerary to match my interest with history and animals (Hachiko). Since this was my first visit to Japan, Toshihiro met me at my hotel. We used the train/subway to travel around Tokyo. He took me to the old part of the city and explained about the temple and the gods and the shoguns. We also visited Shibuya for the Hachiko statue and the "crazy crossing." We had a wonderful lunch, Shabu Shabu, and then visited two Hard Rock Cafes because I collect souvenirs from the cafes where ever I am in the world. At the end of the tour, Toshihiro took me back to my hotel. I hope to visit Tokyo again and will definitely hire Toshihiro again.
Dear Susan-san, Thank you for the excellent tour review. I also enjoyed guiding you through the various spots in Tokyo. You are interested in history. I explained mostly the uniqueness of Japanese history which would be interesting for American people. You also like dogs, which is a popular pet for Japanese people. Pets shops and animal cafes would also be peculiar items in Japan. You also expressed wide curiosity for Japanese food, life styles, souvenirs and many things. You pointed out the difference of the Japanese Hard Rock Cafes from American ones. You showed me conspicuous elements of Japanese culture. It was great help for me as a tour guide. I hope that you will come to Japan again. Please hire me again as a guide then. Best regards, Toshihiro
We had a very nice day with Toshi. He was kind and patient and showed us all around Tokyo and told us many interesting things about Japanese culture and history. He helped us navigate the subwa/train system which will be very helpful the rest of our time in Tokyo.
Dear Bernadette-san, Thank you for the wonderful tour review. You are from New York that I visited several times. I really enjoyed conversation with you. You have good knowledge about sports and my favorite music jazz. You informed me of a lot of interesting anecdotes. It was nice discussion especially about the difference between New York and Tokyo. I could do a guide with a relaxed atmosphere. Thank you very much again. Best regards, Toshihiro
