We, family of 5, engaged Koichi for 2 days in Osaka and Kyoto. Taking a public transport with someone on wheelchair always needs extra time and sometimes can be challenging. Koichi is very familiar with the train routes and he knows where the lifts in the train station are located. He always came prepared with a plan of the places that we wanted to go and explained all the background/history well. Furthermore, he knows where the good spots for photos are and helped us take many nice pictures. Overall, he is a fun and caring guy and took care of all our needs. Without him, we would not have been able to visit so many places in 2 days. Thanks, my friend, Koichi!
Koichi gave our family a day we wont forget. His thoughtful itinerary kept the day fun and interesting. We never went in and out the same way to any area - he took us on interesting side streets or along beautiful waterways. We even stopped at a great mochi place and a very old green tea restaurant. Koichi was interesting; always having explanations backed up with pamphlets to help us understand anything we had questions about about. We enjoyed our time and would highly recommend him to anyone.
Hi! Thank you for giving me such a nice review. I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour. I was also able to have a pleasant time with you , your husband and lovely cute daughters. Well, I will never forget your face when I ate a chocolate ball like a deer’s poop in Nara park. That was very fun! Anyway I hope to see you again in the near future. Thanks again, Anna san.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time with Koichi and would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone looking for a guide. We had 7 hours in Osaka and we communicated prior to our arrival on how best to plan our time there. We visited Osaka castle, Shitennoji Buddhist temple and beautiful gardens and a tea ceremony at Maikoya. Koichi found us a great place to have some “Japanese fast food”, udon noodles and tempura. We were a party of six and included in the group was my mother who has limited mobility. Koichi was patient and understanding and and I truly appreciate that he sought out the use of elevators and slopes for her to use on the public transport and at tourist sights. Koichi is easy to understand and happy to show tourists around his beautiful country, he even brought us origami ... read more
We were very pleased with Koichi as our guide for a day in Nara and another in Kyoto. He was knowledgeable, energetic, flexible, attentive - and kind! - and escorted us to many fascinating and beautiful sights over the two days that we hired him. He is well-educated, speaks English well, and has diverse life experiences which broaden his guiding capabilities. Highly recommended!
Hi! Frederick san, Thank you for giving me such a nice review. I was able to have a great time with you. Well, During the tour I was amazed by your enthusiasm for photography. If I have a chance to attend you, I would like to show you more interesting places where you might be interested in.
Koichi is an amazing man. So helpful and friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. We even got a Japanese language lesson thrown in It was a full day but koichi's enthusiasm ensured we never tired and were constantly looking forward to our next experience Can't rate him highly enough. Have already recommended him to friends
Hi! Karen san, I’m happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour, and thank you for sending me such a nice comment. The review you gave me is more than I deserved. I was just able to do our tour thanks to your fitness and curiosity. I hope to see you again next time too. Koichi
Kiochi was an excellent guide and we would have no hesitation in recommending him to others. From the initial contact he was responsive and based on our available time, he proposed a schedule which would allow us to take in all the key sights of Kyoto. He met us at the station, provided a very informative overview of each site we visited and even arranged a superb lunch. We even managed to squeeze in an extra visit on the way back to the station. Without using the services of a knowledgeable and organised guide like Koichi, we would never have been able to see all the main sights and understand the role of Kyoto in the history of Japan. Thank you Koichi for a wonderful & memorable day.
Hi! John san. Thank you for giving me such a nice review. I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour. It’s my pleasure. I wish you had more time to spend in Kyoto. In Kyoto and surrounding areas, there are many other places you should visit and things I would like to recommend. Well, I hope to see you again in the near future. Thanks again. Koichi
Koichi was terrific. He met us punctually at he SilverSea ship. We then took public transportation to Osaka sights. We went to the castle, he had us take the tram to save energy getting to the top of the castle area as it was extremely hot. He guided us to 5be lovely tea house on the grounds where we enjoyed a tea ceremony. Took the bus tram to save steps again to our next sight. We went to a lovely Shri e, a wonderful temple where a funeral was being performed and then we headed to the busy shopping streets of Osaka. We had a delightful local lunch which Koichi ordered for us. We did about 20,000 steps with Koichi that day. It was a really great day with a great guide.
Koichi was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about the local areas we visited. The tour was faultless throughout and was the realisation of a dream come true for me. During our tour we had a brilliant lunch suggested to us by Koichi and we visited several places which were not on our original plan, but made the day even more enjoyable. A super highlight was when Koichi suggested we stop at a local supermarket where he purchased a bottle of his favourite local sake for us to sample. Yum!! Thank you Koichi for such a wonderful day. Ian and Leanne
Hi! Ian san, Thank you for your wonderful comments for me. I’m very happy to hear that you enjoyed the tour. It’s my pleasure! I hope to see your fine works that you made on the tour day. Well, have you contacted the kiln where we visited? They told us that today would be the firing day. I’m looking forward to meeting you again. Koichi
We could not have had a better guide for our day in Kyoto than Koichi san! From our initial contact he planned a wonderful day for us and accommodated our special request for a vegetarian lunch. He met us early at our hotel and we started our adventure. Mid-morning he accommodated our impromptu request to visit Arashiyama Monkey Park, which was a highlight for us, especially our daughter. He even helped my daughter get her first goshuincho book and first (of many) goshuins. He explained culture and history and taught us how to properly do the purification ritual at temples/shrines. And he took so many wonderful family photos for us! Another highlight of our time with him was an amazing lunch at the restaurant at Ryoanji Temple. We ate Yudofu in a tatami room that look out onto a beautiful ... read more
Hi! Donna san. Thank you for writing me such a wonderful comment. I'm glad you enjoyed the tour. I'm so happy to have been your guide. I think we were very lucky since we could see beautiful cherry blossoms for that time of the season. I would like to have a chance to guide you next time too. I really hope to see you in the near future. Koichi
From the first contact by email I knew we would be in good hands. Koichi helped me decide on activities for each day based on his extensive knowledge of the area and his quick grasp of what my wife and I would want to see. On our 4 days together we could not ask for a better experience. He is knowledgeable, a very careful driver and was very considerate of our interests, adding things to our original plan. He has a wonderful disposition.
Thank you for your wonderful comment for me. Charles san! I am very happy you enjoyed the tour. I would like to see you again in the near future since I want to show you some other hidden interesting places next time too. Koichi
Koichi was very communicative and is a great guide!
Our family of 5 had an amazing tour of Kyoto with Koichi! He is the Best! Incredible guide and fun person. Koichi created an itinerary that was fun and interesting for all of us. We saw and did so much...and stopped midway for a delicious sushi lunch. He also taught us so much about Japanese culture and history. And....He is a wonderful photographer! We have wonderful memories of Kyoto because of our excellent tour with Koichi! We look forward to returning someday. It is a beautiful place. Thank you Koichi!
Hi! Nora san, Thank you, Thank you so much for giving me such a wonderful comment. I was also happy with you and want to meet you again in the near future!! Please come to Japan, and Kyoto again. I would like to show you more and more interesting places and things. I'm always looking forward to seeing you. Koichi
Koichi was great! He had so much information to share. We requested that he use a car to transport us and our luggage for the day, to be dropped off at our next location, which was a Ryokan. Worked out perfectly. We wanted to have Yakitori for lunch and he took us to a fantastic restaurant. We wentt shopping at Kyoto Handicraft Center and bought some beautiful items there. 10 stars for Koichi.
Hi! Marilyn san, Thank you so much for giving me such a nice comment. I was very very happy with you. I would like to show you more and more interesting places and things next time. I hope you have a chance to come to Kyoto in the near future. See you then! Koichi
We had a good trip under the guidance of Koichi San. Brought us for a delicious sushi and noodle lunch, one of the best we had. Koichi is definitely a trained photographer, taking beautiful photos of people and sceneries at different angles. Koichi San is very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended if you are looking for a good guide.
Koichi arrived on time and waited for us right at the entrance of the port terminal. He tried his best to show us all the visiting sites in Kyoto in the short time we were there. His car was too small for a group of 6 persons and we had some problems in communications as we don't speak Japanese and English is not our native language. Anyway, at the end we returned to the port on time.
Thank you for sending me such a good review in spite of the very busy travel!! I'm afraid that the tour duration was a little bit too short for the return trip to Kyoto from Osaka port. Well, I think it's difficult for me to buy a new big van, but I would like to do my best to make your trip more enjoyable next time too. Koichi
When we initially met Koichi, he was just a guide. By the time we left Kyoto, he was a family member. Koichi is a kind, generous, and hospitable man who sees guiding as his calling. He met us at Ippudo and then we toured Western Kyoto (Arashiyama bamboo forest, monkey park, and boating on the Hozugawa river). I was struck by his genuine kindness. For example, when I mentioned I was afraid to feed the monkeys in Arashiyama, he bought apples himself and coaxed me to do so because he didn't want me to miss out on the experience. That night, he ate dinner with us in Gion at an okinomiyaki restaurant. He goes out of his way to make others comfortable and truly sees himself as an ambassador of his country. I was traveling with my father and husband and all 3 of us had infinite praise for... read more
Hi! Divya san! Thank you very much for giving me such a wonderful review. I really appreciate you for taking time from your precious time and writing me such a good and kind reference. I am glad that I could share happy days in Kyoto, with you , your handsome husband, and gentle father. I really hope to see you again with your family members. By the way, Shall we eat "Daigaku-Imo" (= University Sweet Potato) once more at Fushimi Inari??? Koichi
My parents took a little longer time than expected for the first few destinations and Koichi san was very accommodating and continue to provide excellent service with no complaints. Thank you once again! My family had a great time!
Hi! Trisa san, I was very happy with you. I deeply appreciate your kind words. I hope to see all members of your family again in the near future. Koichi
My wife and I had a great time in Kyoto and Osaka. We booked three tours in different cities through triplelights and all of them were great, but Koichi was the best. Both days were jam packed and we changed around the itineraries several times and Koichi was very flexible.
Our ship stayed for two days in Kobe. And we were very lucky to spend these days with Koichi –san touring Nara and Kyoto. My husband has problems walking for a long time so Koichi –san used his car for both tours that was a blessing for us. As the places we visited were located in different parts of the cities without a car we wouldn’t be able to see as much as we did. Koichi-san was very polite and accommodative and tried to include all places that we wanted to see in these two days. So our tours were quite intense and very interesting. On our first day In Nara we visited Great Buddha Hall, Nara park with deer, Kashuga Taisha Shrine and even Harushika Sake Brewery where we had our first sake tasting. The second day was even longer as we spent some time in Arashiyama Bamboo grove, from... read more
Hi! Tatyana san. I am so happy you had a great time with me. I deeply appreciate your kind words and your taking time out of your schedule. It was pleasure for me to be your guide. My wife was also pleased with your nice maple gift . If I have a chance I would like to visit your country someday. I sincerely hope to see you again in the near future. Best regards, Koichi
We are a family of 6, 4 children aged between 6 and 13. Koichi was an excellent guide and helped us see some of the more far flung sites in Kyoto. I would highly recommend using Koichi
We had 8 different tour guides during our visit to Japan and Koichi was by far the best one and we liked all our guides. We truly enjoyed his company and his knowledge of the city. Our day in Kyoto would not have been possible without him. If you are going to Kyoto and have limited amount of time then you will need a driver. Without a driver you will just be spending a lot of time walking and grabbing taxis. Koichi is an excellent driver and knows how to get to your location as fast as possible since he drove a taxi in the area for five years. He knows every street in Kyoto. He is a great photographer, some of our best family pictures was taken by him. He provided information sheets while we were in the car which helped greatly and the kids enjoyed it. I hope to go back to Japan one day an... read more
A big thank you to Koichi San for giving us a wonderful tour of the most interesting sights of Koyoto and his ability to communicate all the interesting and historical details about them. We really had a great time and would highly commend and recommend his services.
Hi Sanjeev san, Thank you very much for your wonderful comments. I had a great time with you, and I could also enjoy the tour with you and your wonderful family especially your lovely kids. I hope this tour will be a nice memory for them. I also wish they will remember the tour day we spent someday when they get older. I'm looking forward to seeing you again. See you!! Sanjeev san, Koichi
Koichi san was very attentive to our request. Yet, he was able to accommodate to our custom itinerary which we were quite grateful with his excellent services. He was able to articulate and explain to us on those japan history for each iconic template/shrine. He always punctuate to pick us up at our hotel. Once again, we are very happy with his excellent services and again he has made our trip to be unforgettable. Most importantly, our parents are very happy and enjoying this trip.
Hi! Liaw san, Thank you for your great and warm-heart comments. Well, I'm afraid we could't pick grapes this time. I hope to have a chance for harvesting fruits and crops next time too. Your loyalty to your parents always impressed me. I'm very happy to meet you and your wonderful family. I'm looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Koichi
Our group of 4 spent 2 wonderful days with Koichi San. It was the first time visiting the area and having Koichi San as our guide made the visit exceptionally memorable. He customized our tour to see all the highlights and the green tea fields of Wazuka Town. His English is very good and his knowledge of the area is top notch. He has many handouts to explain and describe the area and culture. His choice of restaurants and local stops were perfect, including tasting tea beer, sake tastings at a brewery, ramen and sushi lunches. His vehicle is very comfortable for 4 passengers including all our luggage: He went above and beyond to make our experience the best it could possibly be and his passion for travel guiding is uplifting.
Dear Carol san. Thank you for your warm heart comments. I was very happy to have nice two couples like you. I also appreciate your wonderful "NASA's" gifts for me. I would like to make efforts to become an astronaut someday!! I'm looking forward to seeing you again, Carol san. Koichi. N(W)ASA.
We were a family of four including two teenagers. We had half day trip of Kyoto with Mr Koichi. He showed us Golden Pavilion and Imperial palace and Gion district in a short time. He took us around in his car that made it very efficient. He is very knowledgeable about the hostilely and told of lot of tit bits. It was very hot that day we toured with him but he made sure we were comfortable. Thanks Mr Koichi for you help
Dear Premila san, Thank you very much for your kind comments. It was a short trip, but I had a great time with you and your family members. I really appreciate you. Thank you for taking your precious time to write such a nice review. I’m looking forward to seeing you again. Koichi
Since it was the first time for my family of 5 to visit Kobe, I was a little worried that we might not be able to go to the sights that we wanted to see conveniently. Koichi was very accommodating to us. He was open to my suggestions for the itinerary and was kind to adjust to our requests. He was also very informative of the places that we went to.He even accompanied my husband and son to go to a robot store while in Kobe. My family had a wonderful first time in visiting Kobe, thanks to Koichi.
Mary san, Thank you for giving me such a nice comment. I was very happy to be with you and your lovely family members. I'm really looking forward to seeing you again. And next time, I would like to show you more interesting places and things. I really appreciate you for taking time and writing me a reference. Thanks again. Yours Sincerely, Koichi
Koichi is an outstanding guide and takes great pride to know details about Kyoto and its surrounding area. Our first day with Koichi was spent driving to many of the top sites in Kyoto. He was so knowledgeable about the temples, shrines, history of Japan, navigation of the streets, and traditions of the country. He also took us to off the tourist track locations like a 300 year old hundred thatch roof tea house that was such a joy to go to. Because Koichi had a car, we were able to see so much more than if we were to travel by public transportation. We did in one day, what many people do in 3 days. Our second day, we asked to go to two areas: a sake distillery and the tea area (Uji). We loved them both. We spent the morning at several sake distilleries and the surrounding area... read more

Our tour with Koichi was just perfect! We have a 2 year old and a 6 year old - he brought a car seat for us and took us to Nara and showed us a lot sights on the way, he was easy to talk to and very kind and went out of his way to help with the baby stroller. He also treated us to some fresh Mochi which was amazing. I would highly recommend Koichi. Thanks for the amazing day.
Hi! Lubna san. Thank you for your kind review. I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed the Nara tour with me. I could also have a great time with Lubna san , your nice husband, and lovely children. I think childcare is very hard work, but please enjoy raising children since its period will pass by so quickly. I really hope to see you again in the near future. Best Regards, Koichi
I travelled to Kyoto with my family (total 5 people, 4 elders). We did one day trip to Nara, Osaka and a day in Kyoto with our base being Kyoto. Our time with Koichi San was amazing. He not only helped us understand the history and culture better, he was very empathetic to the needs of elders, patient with figuring out best routes and flexible in scheduling the day per our needs and taste. He is a very nice and genuine human being and a great company to spend your time with. I highly recommend having him your tour guide! Thank you Koichi San! Wish you very best in endeavors ahead.
Dear Saumya san, I really appreciate your generosity for taking time from your busy schedule. Thank you for your great warm-hearted comments for me. Very Arigatou-Gozaimasu!! I had a great time with you. Pleasure is mine, Saumya san. I'm looking forward to seeing you in the near future. And shall we enjoy singing Karaoke songs!! Best regards, Koichi
I am very impressed with Mr. Koichi sama. He is very knowledgeable person with unique insights to places and historical areas. I got to know him well after four days of touring with us. The greatest assets is his ability to be flexible and modify tour schedules according to the weather(rain) and family needs(hungry kids) as I travelled with my children. He has a protective nature that helped keep my children safe as we toured to multiple sites. Our tour hours are frequently changed and usually lasted longer than it should and I am very thankful for his patience and kindness(Thankful as well to his wife). I was able to visit all the wonderful sites that the family wanted to see. Mr. Koichi sama made contact with me earlier prior to arrival to Japan to plan out the sightseeing tours ... read more
Dear Thomas san Aurora san, Elanna san, Lani san Thank you very much for giving me such wonderful comments. I am glad that I could share happy days with you and your family members. By the way, I was very impressed by Thomas san’s personal history that you talked to me and also by your education policy for your children. I think that the most enjoyable experience in the trip is to encounter and communicate with the local people. It might change even our life. I thought that you are practicing this theory. I really appreciate you for taking time from your precious time and writing me a reference. I would like to thank you again providing me with highly recommendable reference message. I’m really looking forward to seeing you again! Arigatou-gozaimasu! Thomas san.
Due to limited time and spread out sights, we chose Koichi to take us by car to see Arashiyama, Kinkakuji, Nijo Castle & Fushimi Inari Shrine in 7 hours. The tour surpassed our expectations, travelling by car saved us a lot of time & Koichi was very enthusiastic and explained the history & the background of all sights. He also went beyond the regular tour drove us through very pretty neighborhoods, included the Ryoanji temple when he heard we were interested. It was a great experience to see Kyoto through the eyes of a local and the private car was a great blessing, the only change I would make is to see Fushimi Inari Shrine on another day as along with the rest of the sights it became a long tiring day. I would highly recommend the private car tour with Koichi as it covers a lot of sights... read more

My sister, two daughters and I were very excited for our Osaka Day Tour with Koichi. We agreed to meet with him in our hotel lobby at 8:30 am, but as early as 8:15 am, we were already set. We were surprised to see Koichi arrive early as well. It gave us a good impression of him. The first place we went to was the Osaka Castle. In actuality, this was not part of the itinerary because we were only going to visit Kyoto and Nara, but because Koichi insisted, he toured us around the place. Aside from going to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Kinkakuji Golden Pavilion and Fushimi-inari Shrine in Kyoto, Koichi also showed us some places like the Geisha District, while we were on the car. It was great to see other famous spots, even for a short while. Aside from the fact that Koichi was know... read more

By the way, how about deer's poop or Sakura-mochi ? Do you really like it? Was it delicious? Next time I would like to show you more interesting places and things. Well, I was very impressed by the words you gave me. You mentioned about me as a friend more than a tour guide. This is my ideal guiding style!! It's just my calling!! I'm really looking forward to seeing you again in the near future. Thank you again!! Rowena san. Best regards, Koichi
