Hi !, I’m Koichi Wasa. Welcome to Japan and Kansai region.
I was born in Osaka, and studied in Kyoto when I was a university student. Now I live in Shiga, near the Lake Biwa, Japan's biggest lake.
I can guide you mainly in Kansai region, including Kyoto, Osaka, Nara and Shiga. There are many sightseeing spots in this area such as historical monuments, big shopping centers, famous markets, and so on. I’m also a professional driver for passengers, and have a license of certified travel agent. I’ve been working as an English speaking Taxi driver in Kyoto for over 5 years. So I know very well about Kyoto even small alleys and surrounding areas.
One of my hobbies is outdoor activities such as mountaineering, kayaking, skiing and sometimes I enjoy dinghy sailing in Lake Biwa. So I can also take you to some areas where you can enjoy Japan's unique nature. Usually we use public transportation systems, but If you wish to use a car, I will arrange it for your convenience.
Let's go and enjoy together!!

“ Osaka Kyoto Nara 2018 ”

My sister, two daughters and I were very excited for our Osaka Day Tour with Koichi. We agreed to meet with him in our hotel lobby at 8:30 am, but as early as 8:15 am, we were already set. We were surprised to see Koichi arrive early as well. It gave us a good impression of him. The first place we went to was the Osaka Castle. In actuality, this was not part of the itinerary because we were only going to visit Kyoto and Nara, but because Koichi insisted, he toured us around the place. Aside from going to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Kinkakuji Golden Pavilion and Fushimi-inari Shrine in Kyoto, Koichi also showed us some places like the Geisha District, while we were on the car. It was great to see other famous spots, even for a short while. Aside from the fact that Koichi was knowledgable about the history of the places we visited, he was also very helpful when he would notice that we were getting a little tired. He would stop for awhile, ask if we’re okay, and even offer to help us in walking. Moreover, we appreciate all the little gifts or souvenirs he gave us, like the origami that his wife prepared, and the little snack he gave us. Truly, Koichi is not your usual tour guide. I forgot to mention that he also takes amazing pictures — almost all angles possible! We appreciate all of his efforts to explain Japan’s history to us. He even prepared visual aids for us to read, and we can fully attest that we really learned a lot from him. Our Osaka experience would not have been memorable without him. Koichi was more than a tour guide for us. He was our friend. Till next time! Arigato gozaimasu, Koichi!
