Hi! My name is Keiko. I am a nationally licensed tour guide who loves meeting people from different countries and cultures. I was born in Hiroshima and have spent most of my life in my hometown, Hiroshima.
I have been working as a freelance tour guide since 2014. I have a passion and love for my job, with my commitment to make your visit memorable and fun. You will find me friendly, cheerful, flexible and knowledgeable. I love kids and and I am happy to be with them. I love guiding elderly people and I am happy to talk about Japanese history walking at an unhurried pace. Because of my 9-year career as an English teacher at elementary schools, I am good at guiding people whose native language is not English. I can use very simple and easy English in my guiding so that non-native English speakers can easily understand me.
Hiroshima is world famous for its sad memory of the atomic bomb. But at the same time, Hiroshima is a brilliant city where you can enjoy beautiful scenery on Miyajima shrine island, eating local foods and tasting Japanese sake. Why don't you have a memorable day in Miyajima shrine and peace park with me?
I hope my tours suit your interests. Please feel free to contact me for further information. I can customie my tour based on your needs and I will do my best, with Japanese spirit of hospitality, to make your tour comfortable and happy.
Thank you for visiting my profile and I look forward to welcoming you in Hiroshima!

My dad wanted to visit Hiroshima and I booked him for a day tour with Keiko. He enjoyed the tour and said that, although he could have visited the sites on his own, he would not have appreciated it as much if not for the stories and context that Keiko shared. He also shared with me after the tour that he also learnt a little more about Japanese culture and customs from their conversations. He commented that he would recommend her to friends if they needed a guide for Hiroshima. Reservations were very easy and Keiko was very responsive and accommodating when we were arranging the tour. Thank you Keiko for showing him a good time at Hiroshima!
Thank you Ken, the tour with your father was full of fun and delightful conversation. Lots of questions and opinion exchange about Japanese history and culture. I loved all the conversation very much!! Please say hello to Tony. It was really nice to meet him!
Keiko is a delightful person and a thoughtful, knowledgeable guide. We had easy and helpful communication prior to our arrival and Keiko helped us devise a plan for our short visit to Hiroshima. We are a family of 5, with children aged 16,13 and 10 - she gave us a fascinating and insightful tour of the Peace Park and Memorial museum, explaining in an accessible way - for all of us - the key historical events. This is a must see experience and made so much more memorable by Keiko’s sensitive and personal approach. Understanding our love of food & interest in trying the local cuisine she kindly took us to a local restaurant where we ate THE most fabulous okonomiyaki and were able to enjoy a truly authentic local Japanese experience. We spent a second day with Keiko to see Hiroshima castle an... read more
Thank you Meg, I'm happy that you liked the okonomiyaki restaurant!! Food is one of the most important things especially traveling in a foreign country. I hope your memory in Hiroshima will become a highlight of your trip :) I was also glad that your children listened to my explanation very carefully and that they were interested in learning the history. Japan's summer is very hot. Please take care and enjoy the rest of your trip in Japan!
We had four different guides in four different cities in Japan, and Keiko was our favorite. Our group spent a whole day with her exploring Miyajima. She met us at our hotel in Hiroshima and then brought us back to the hotel. We had a big group - 12 of us in total - with ages ranging from 2 to 78 years old, and everyone thought she was the best guide. Not only was she knowledgeable, but she was very friendly and patient. Also, she is very organized and a great communicator - I had several questions and we exchanged many messages, and she was always very quick to respond. If you are looking for a guide in Hiroshima, look no further!
Thank you Carolina, it was a great day for me, too!! I love to have a relaxing tour and I enjoyed all the street food tour. Glad to hear that you enjoyed my tour a lot. When you eat oysters, please remember me and Hiroshima!
What do I say about Keiko.. She is a lovely person in addition to being an excellent tour guide. She told an immense amount of details and little nuggets without which our experience would have been grossly incomplete. The details of the Itsukushima shrine, the Buddha teample at the top of the hill, the Atom Bomb museum and the survivir stories.. It gave a very real and tangible feel to the visit. we not only asked her about the sites but also in general a variety things about Japan and Japanese culture that she answered with a smile. While she always had an eye on the watch she never once hurried us during the trip.. When we were at Miyajima we ran into one of the families for whom she had been a guide the previous day and the warmth and friendliness wit which the faily greeted her and s... read more

Keiko speaks good english and was very friendly. Shes always looking out for the children and elderly in our group. Our time was very tight, but she managed to give us highlights of the hiroshima history and made our time very well-spent. I highly recommend Keiko for anyone who wants to know about Japan history, she is super knowledgeable!
Thank you Casey, I had a great day with you all, too! I hope your stay in Hiroshima became a memorable one for you all, especially for your children. I was amazed at how carefully they read the explanation in the museum and how intelligent they are. We can be small pieces of a peaceful world. Let peace bloom!
