“ Friendly and well pprepared ”

This is a fantastic tour, especially if you are a first time visitor to Japan. Mari is very organised, she had pamphlets printed out with information for us. Mari was in contact with us before the tour and even left a note at our hotel to welcome us! The outer fish markets were fascinating and Mari explained everything to us. She also gave us information and showed us a video of an auction at the inner fish market. The sushi making was very informative and a lot of fun. Our sushi chef was very enthusiastic and helpful. Everything we made was delicious, as was the tempura the restaurant provided. Mari was extremely patient with our two sons, and helped our youngest with making sushi. She gave them an origami kit and made ninja stars for them, which they loved. We highly recommend this tour! read more

Mari:

Dear Jason, Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I also enjoyed the tour. All members of your family are sweet and friendly, especially both of your sons are adorable. Your sons are smart enough to answer all my questions. I am glad to know that your sons loved Origami Ninja stars. When you visit Japan again, I would like to guide you again. Warmest regards,

“ Finding our way ”

Mari was very well prepared. She had spent a lot of time before we met communicating with me, making sure we knew what to expect to ensure we had a good morning with her. She helped us navigate the subway system, buy IC cards and explained the backgrounds to the places we visited. We enjoyed the Tsukiji markets, with Mari showing us the different grades of tuna and many of the different flavours of the food on offer. Unfortunately we did not get to see the sumo wrestling practice because they had finished their practice early due to the competition - that would have really capped off the morning. It was through no fault of Mari’s that this happened and she took us to Ginza to make up for it.

Mari:

Thank you very much for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed my tour. I was impressed both of you are very knowledgeable about Japanese culture and your questions are insightful. I am sorry that we couldn’t see sumo. I have taken Sumo practice more than ten times, but this is the first time it happened. I hope all your family will enjoy skiing at Myoko near Nagano.

“ Tour of NEW Toyosu Fish Market ”

We met with Mari at 5am (early!) to visit the newly opened Toyosu Fish Market. This was still a new tour for Mari and it was a little bareboned because of the holidays, but she was amazing at explaining how the market worked and perfectly described the energy and magic behind the marketplace. Her English was excellent and she was enthusiastic. And she went out of her way to find us a great place to have early morning sushi at Toyosu! I would highly recommend Mari for this and any of there other tours in Tokyo and the surrounding areas.

Mari:

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. I really enjoyed guiding your family. All of your family members are friendly and great, especially you and your mother. I was impressed that ten members of your family travel together for two weeks. It’s fantastic. With our Toyosu experience, I decided to make a new tour called Tsukiji Tuna Auction tour. Thank you for everything. With warm regards,
