What to Expect

Tokyo has a lot of attractions!! However, it may be difficult for international tourists to look around the city for a limited amount of time on their own. This tour is designed for first-timers to see some of the most popular tourist spots effectively within several hours.

I will take you to some of my best, favorite places in Tokyo, such as the lively Tsukiji Fish Market, the old temple Sensoji, Mecca of fashion Harajuku, and breathtaking city view from Tokyo Tower....etc. On the tour you can absorb various aspects of old and modern culture in Tokyo in just one day.
After the tour, you will get to know the overview of the transportation systems in Tokyo. That will help you to look around the city on your own for the rest of your stay.

*The itinerary can be changed according to your interest or preference.

“ Very nice 3 days ”

During our Tokyo vacation we were with Riko for 3 days. We arranged 3 different concept tours with her and all were very good. Riko has good verbal and written communication. Our group was 9 person ages from 6 to 76 and Riko managed very well all our needs. She did her best to make our Tokyo trip to be unforgettable. Thank you Riko and hope to see you in the future. I recommend Riko to every one who wishes to have a smooth and lovely Tokyo trip.

Riko:

Dear Bora, Thank you very much for having me as your guide for three days. In addition to that, thank you so much for sending the wonderful comment to me! It has been very hot, so sometimes it was hard to get around in the city especially for a family with children and elderly people. I was impressed with your strong family tie. Pace of each of you varies, but everybody considers others and stays together. It would be great for me to see and tour you all again. I hope to see you again in the future (maybe in a mild season?!). Say hi to everyone! Thank you again,Bora!! Riko

“ Riko is the best! ”

Our family of three only had about 3 full days in Tokyo so we decided to hire Riko to make the most of our short time there. I didn’t want to waste any time worrying about ground transportation or figuring out restaurants. Riko was a savior for us! Not only did she speak perfect English, but she knew the background and history of everything we saw. Prior to our arrival, she and I went back and forth on possibilities - so she had a very detailed (but flexible) plan in place. She taught us how to use the subways/rails, she took us to two great restaurants, and she helped navigate a JR rail pass snafu (my fault but she went out of her way to fix). We are eternally grateful for all her help!!!

Riko:

Dear Karen, Thank you so much for sending such a wonderful comment for me! I'm just happy if I could help you to make your stay more enjoyable and efficient in Tokyo. You and your family are so nice that I myself enjoyed touring you all very much, especially your daughter's chats. I still remember her cute smile. I hope that the problem of JR pass is solved properly and I have another chance to see you all again someday. I would like to show you other aspects of Japan, maybe the beautiful countryside for next time. Say hi to your gourmet husband and lovely daughter! Thank you again, Karen! Riko

“ AWESOME!!! ”

We needed someone to help familiarize us with the confusing and overwhelming rail system in Tokyo. On our first full day in Japan we decided to acquire a tour guide to help us navigate the huge and busy city. Riko promptly met us in our hotel lobby and reviewed our agenda for the day. She was very open to our requests and gave great suggestions or alternatives. She always ensured we were accounted for and adjusted her pace to our pace. She is very knowledgeable about the architecture, history and traditional/modern customs. Through Riko we have gained a greater sense of respect for the culture and place. All accolades aside, on this tour be prepared for A LOT of walking. Break in your new shoes and make sure it's comfortable. If you are travelling during Japan's summer months please beware... it's HOT and HUMID! If you are not accustomed to being out and about in near 90 degree temperatures with 70-80% humidity, consider taking a driven bus tour. Whichever tour you decide on, when in Tokyo during the summer, remember to stay hydrated. With those points given, I can honestly say that nothing beats walking around a different city and allowing yourself to absorb the sights, sounds, smells and tastes. A truly AMAZING experience! Thank you Riko, you're the best!!!

Riko:

Dear Chelsea, Thank you so much for sending your review to the website! Yes, Japan’s summer is hot and humid. It’s quite hard to walk outdoors for a long time even for the locals in this season. Our tour day was a typical summer day, so you must have been so tired after the tour. I appreciate your patience and also your great suggestion for those planning Japan trip in summer. As you suggested, I personally wouldn’t recommend walking tours in summer here for those who are not used to walking on a daily basis. Your actual voice will help them to consider more suitable travel plan. But as you mentioned there is a certainly benefit of walking tours. I hope you experienced something that cannot do on a bus tour. Although the tour day may not have been a perfect day for a walking tour, it was nice meeting you and your family this time. I hope to see you all again in more comfortable season! Thank you again, Chelsea!! Riko

“ Riko was an additional treat to a wonderful day in Tokyo ”

Riko is obviously a very professional tour guide who keeps her client's safety and wishes as her highest priority of the day. Her warm and caring personality just gives her tours an extra treat for the day. My family used Riko's services as a private guide for a day and she provied a valuable Tokyo experience as well as a good time for our short stay. She certainly would be highly recommended by us. -Neal Werner-

Riko:

Dear Neal-san, Thank you so much for sending such warm words to me! I myself enjoyed accompanying you all this time. You and your family are sweet and pleased to be with. Particularly, I was impressed with your consideration not only for your family, but also for me. It was a very fun tour for me, but I regretted only one thing on our tour. That is my choice for lunch. You told me that your family loved sushi, so I took you all to a sushi restaurant, but you don't really like raw fish! I though that you also liked sushi, but you actually don't. If I knew it, I would have chosen another restaurant for all of you. Although you didn't show any discontent to me, I felt sorry for you. I appreciate your big heart. This time was a short stay in Japan for you. Japan has more things to see. I hope to see you again and have a chance to show you more attractions including a nicer restaurant for you, Neal-san! Thank you again, Riko.
