What to Expect

In Tokyo, there are so many attractive places where you can have a great time of the day.
I selected four most popular touring spots; Tsukiji, Imperial palace, Asakusa and Akihabara. It's very good tour, especially if this will be your first time visit in Tokyo!
Also there is "Popular spots in the west side of Tokyo" tour on my page. You can cover most of all must-see spots in Tokyo!!

Tsukiji Fish Market is one of the top tourist district destination in Tokyo! It consists of two main areas-the inner market and the outer market. Tokyo governor decided to relocate the inner market to Toyosu new market in October,2018. (visiting the inner market will not be included in our itinerary from October 2018)It might be your first and last chance to visit there! We will go to both places. The inner market is the wholesale market for the professionals where about 480 kinds of marine products are traded. You can have a close look at various kinds of fish and shellfish like tuna, eel, octopus, sea urchin and more! There are about 550 small family-run retail shops in the inner market, each shop has own specialty selling foods like tuna, eel and so on. So you can enjoy seeing from many different things not only merchandises but also workers, shops, and the human interactions in Tsukiji. Inside the market, intricate narrow streets are like a maze but I'll take you anywhere you're interested in safely.
In the outer market, there are about 400 retail shops which are open to the public. Almost all kinds of Japanese ingredients can be found here.
This is like a kitchen of Japanese cuisine. You can buy Japanese food, seasonings, tea, knives, dishware wrapping goods and so on. Of course you can taste and eat fresh seafood here.

We'll visit the East Garden of the Imperial Palace.(Monday and Friday are closed. Instead, we will visit Nijyubashi bridge of the Imperial Palace) We will visit two main spots such as the main tower of the former Edo castle and the Ninomaru Garden. Many kinds of seasonal flowers and plants are planted. You can enjoy the scenery all year around. It's very a beautiful Japanese garden.

Next, we'll go to Asakusa. It remains the old atmosphere of the Edo era and it's a very vivid town. On the way to Sensoji temple, we can enjoy shopping at Nakamise shopping street. It's very fun to see so many kinds of traditional crafts, sweets and souvenirs. Sweets like a small pancake stuffed with red bean paste, deep-fried buns stuffed with different kinds of pastes and rice crackers are famous in Asakusa.
There are many kinds of restaurants such as Tempura, Soba, Udon, Tonkatsu, Okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake), Sukiyaki, grilled eel rice bowl, Sushi, Hamburg, pasta, and so on. If you'd like to eat at a local tavern in the Hoppy street, definitely it is better to have a tour guide with you. Let's eat your favorite authentic Japanese food in Asakusa!

Our last destination is Akihabara. If you're interested, we can have a break at a maid cafe. Girls who are wearing maid costumes will welcome you as their master politely. You can order food and drinks and can take a photo with the maid (you need to pay extra charge). Customers can also enjoy chatting with them before the order is being served.
Akihabara is well known for shopping as well. I can take you anywhere you are interested in such as Don Quijote, Gacyapon(capsule toy) shops, anime figure doll shops, comic stores, and electronics shops.

If you have any questions and requests, please feel free to ask me. I'll reply you as soon as possible.

I'd like to make your stay in Tokyo a real pleasant one. I'm really looking forward to meeting you in my tour!
Thank you, Arigatou!

“ Great experience! ”

Very professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. Great experience overall. Thank you for a beautiful tour and day.

Thank you for taking your time to write a review, JF! I had an enjoyable time with your beautiful family and learned about cultural differences between your home country and Japan. Not only visiting famous tourist sites but also having dairy life style experiences of Japan make your travel more memorable and lead a deep understanding about that country. Hope you bring back a lot of real-Japan experiences. Domo Arigatou Gozaimashita!!

“ Flexibility of sights visited fabulous. ”

Yukiko amazingly showed 2 jet-lagged seniors everything we planned PLUS a local sumo event. We were taxi dependent but this allowed my slow walking husband to enjoy every minute. We even had an unscheduled stop to purchase must haves for teen grandchildren. I think I have a feel for Tokyo, definitely have history and cultural background thanks to Yukiko. We will return to Tokyo in 12 days and will spend another half day with Yukiko to concentrate on Imperial Gardens. Wonderful experience.

Thank you so much for your great review, Barbara! The sumo event is held only once a year, luckily we could catch the great opportunity. I'm sure you're enjoying to visit other places now. I'm looking forward to meeting you again in 10 days. Have a safe trip and meet you soon.

“ 3 Generation Girls Trip ”

We spent 2 days touring Tokyo with Yukiko. We had 3 generations on our trip and Yukiko managed to pick a wonderful mix of places to visit that we all enjoyed. Some highlights were the plastic food store, photo booths on Takeshita street, Owl Cafe, Kawaii Monster Cafe, Tokyo Tower, Asukusa. After our 2 days with Yukiko, she also gave us recommendations for some other places to visit. We took full advantage of her knowledge of the city and learned a lot about how to navigate Tokyo

Thank you for your wonderful review for the tour! Some key points of our tour was Kawaii, cute and fun for girls! We dropped off some photogenic places that made our time more enjoyable. I hope you will visit Japan with your family again! Domo Arigatou Gozaimashita!!

“ Imperial palace and Tsukiji market ”

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Yukiko. My husband has difficulty walking and climbing stairs. Yukiko arranged for a wheelchair and made an advanced reservation for our palace tour, and she was conscious about the difficulty of our 1 day tour. We kept in contact discussing possible itineraries, and she was flexible in where and when we wanted to go. Her response time was quick and to the point. Yukiko is very professional and gracious in her manner, she even wore a kimono for our tour. She shared Japanese culture and history in English very well. We couldn't have had a better guide! I would contact her again the next time we are in Japan.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review, Patrice. It was a beautiful day for walking to see all the sites. I am very happy to hear that you had an enjoyable time in the tour. I always try to do my best as a professional guide, and I would like to progress and expand my expertise until I would meet you again the next time. Domo Arigatou Gizaimashita!!

“ Excellent Two Days! ”

We were a group of nine composed of three generations. My father and mother both in their seventies, myself, my wife, my sister, my sister-in law, and three kids aged 8, 6, and 5. Yukiko was able to plan the two days that was kept everyone interested and engaged the whole time! Working with Yukiko was a very easy and pleasant experience. The planning process was effortless. As first time visitors to Japan, she made sure she understood what we wanted out of the tour and gave her suggestions accordingly. Her responses were quick and she made an effort to answer all of our questions. Given that we had three young children with us, she made sure to include activities that would interest them. At the start of each day, she gave us an overview of the places we would visit and a brief expla... read more

Thank you so much for your excellent review, JM-san!! I can't find a better word to express my gratitude to your review of my tours. I was very happy that children had a great time with paper folding, treasure hunting and Ninjya activities. I hope what they experienced in Japan helps to broaden their horizons and expand their interests about Japan. I always welcome you back to Japan and see you again. Domo Arigatou Gozaimashita !! Yukiko
