Toshi is a marvelous guide! We had a great day with her in Tokyo. She is knowledgeable and a pleasure to spend the day with. We especially appreciated her kindness and flexibility as we had to rearrange our plans due to Typhoon Hagibis. Thank you Toshi for both your support and for showing us an awesome day!
Arigato, Wendy! I also had a wonderful time with you and your family. So glad that we managed to hit all the places (and food) you wanted to visit. There are over 100 choices of crepes in Harajuku. Just looking at the colorful samples in front of the food stands was fun, wasn't it? You looked so cool with the beer at a warmly cozy bar in Golden Gai. How was the taste of Yakitori (skewered chicken) in Omoide Yokocho? Hope you liked it. Please come back as Tokyo has more local food you must try. Matane! (see ya' in English)
Toshi provided consistently excellent, knowledge-based, personalized touring. She’s a warm, engaging person who immediately made us all feel comfortable. In the planning for our trip, she was very responsive and helpful when replying to our questions and helped tailor our time with her to match our interests and physical abilities. She has very broad knowledge about Tokyo and Japan, their geography and history, and more than satisfied all our questions. She’s a very engaging speaker, she made sure we were all involved. She followed up on all issues in a complete and timely manner. She made excellent recommendations for places of interest we wanted to visit on our own. We couldn’t be more pleased with her service and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her as a guide.
Thank you, Seymour. Glad to hear you enjoyed our tour! I aim to please! It was great to spend two days with all of you. We had fun in Harajuku while we had meaningful time to immerse ourselves in the arts and culture in Ueno & Yanaka. The Asakura mansion is stunning, isn’t it? Please come back to Tokyo in a different season to see the flowers, e.g., cherry blossoms in late March and lotus flowers in July. In addition, let’s explore Yokohama together!
The Meiji-jingu Shrine, Harajuku, Shinjuku and the Shibuya Crossing, with stops at a cat cafe, DAISO store, a fantastic tonkatsu lunch and shopping all along the way—that’s how my husband and I spent our amazing day with Toshi. She’s informative, fun and could not have been lovelier. I recommend Toshi to anyone reading this review, as I will back home in Los Angeles to my friends planning future visits to Japan.
Thank you for your kind words, Laura and Paul! Your glowing review is very humbling. I quite enjoyed my day with you, too! So happy we could find shirts and shoes that your sons had requested in Harajuku. Maisen, the restaurant we had lunch, is the one of the most popular tonkatsu (pork fillet cutlet) restaurants in Tokyo. Enjoy the rest of your stay. Hope to see you (and your friends, perhaps) again in the near future!
We enjoyed our day in Tokyo with Toshi. We are a family of five with kids ages 11,10 &10. Toshi kept everyone entertained. We used several modes of transportation to mo e about the city. We were telling friends all that we did with Toshi and they couldn’t believe we did it in one day. :)
Hi Jennifer! So happy to know your family enjoyed the tour. The Tokyo skyline is quite stunning from the elevated train, isn't it? The breeze on the water bus ride was a welcome reprieve from the heat. How did you like the rainbow-colored cotton candy in Harajuku? Have you all had a chance to show friends your Purikura photos? You all had fake eyelashes, enlarged eyes, extra rosy cheeks and lips (even your husband!). So cute! Please come back in the spring to see the cherry blossoms in bloom. It's a sight to behold! Hope to see you again!
Toshi is very knowlegable and personable. She customised our tour to our specific interests. We all had a great time.
Arigato(thank you), Anthony! The tour was a mixture of traditional (Meijijingu Shrine) and modern Japan. Harajuku is my most favorite place in Tokyo with so many interesting stores to check out. So glad we managed to hit all the spots your children wanted. Purikura photos from the cute photo booth are particularly good souvenirs. We barely scratched the surface of Tokyo! Please come back. Hope to see you again.
