What to Expect
Meiji Jingu is a Shinto shrine, so you can learn about the Shinto religion and learn how to respectfully visit Japanese shrines. You can buy omikuji, which are fortunes written on small slips of paper, good luck charms, or ema, which are picture tablets that have wishes written on them. Throughout your visit, you can offer prayers for happiness, success, or healthy relationships. This shrine is known as a “power spot”, or a place with strong spiritual energy, so your wishes may come true!
