  • Imperial East Garden - The Japanese style Ninomaru Garden was built in early 17C and the second circle of defense of the former Edo Castle. It’s a stroke-style garden around a big pond. We can enjoy autumn colors of sawtooth oaks, Quercus, and various kinds of maples.
  • Koishikawa Korakusen - A traditional Japanese strolling garden that features a path around a pond built in 17C. Its main pond is surrounded by dozens of maples trees which turn brilliant shades of orange and red in late November.
  • Rokugien – One of the traditional Japanese style gardens created during Edo period. It is located not too far from Koishigawa Korakuen Gardens with more than 87,000 m2. During when the trees turn their colors in autumn, the trees and its leaves are lightened up during the night so that people can enjoy some magical scenery by looking at the autumn leaves in the traditional garden at night.
  • Hamarikyu garden - Built in 1654. One of the typical strolling Japanese Garden of the Edo Period. The Edo Period pond was a tidal pond that depended on the intake of seawater from Edo Bay. It had two duck hunting sites within the grounds. You can enjoy viewing Japanese red maples, trident maple, Japanese wax tree, etc.
  • Shinjyuku Gyoen - It was originally built as a garden for one of the feudal loads during Edo period in the 17th century. It is about 58.3 ha (144 acres) wide. Within the garden, it has a traditional Japanese style garden, an English style garden, and a French style garden. You can find some interesting contrasts and landscapes with the characteristics of the trees planted in the gardens that turns into autumn colors.
  • Cat Street - a trendy fashionable street in Harajuku. Many celebrities came and purchased Vintage wear.

What to Expect

In autumn, Japanese have enjoyed going out to the mountainous countryside to see autumn leaves traditionally. We call this leaf peeping "Momiji-gari". There are poems about Momiji-gari in Man-yoshu (the oldest existing collection of Japanese poetry in 7C). Let’s enjoy Momiji-gari feeling like aristocrats.

Please choose three sightseeing sites among the following seven leaf coloring spots.
Imperian East Garden, Ginko Avenue, Koishikawa Korakuen, Rokugien, Hamarikyu, Shinjyuku Gyoen, Yoyogi Park etc.
Also please inform your lunch preference, Japanese food (Sushi, Tempura, Shabu-shabu, Tonkatsu, etc.) or your food restriction. (Lunch charge for you and your guide is not included in this tour fee.)
In accordance with your choice and the best coloring spots, I will make a proposed itinerary.

One of the sample itinerary is
9:00 Meet at your hotel
9:30 Imperial East Garden
11:00 Hamarikyu
12:30 Lunch
1:30 Ginko Avenue
2:00 Meiji Shrine & Yoyogi Park
3:00 Shibuya Crossing

The tour is very flexible with time and places according to your interest.

“ Fabulous first day in Tokyo with Mari. ”

Mari was polite, very interesting, personable, and knowledgeable. She was very thoughtful in providing us all with surgical masks for protection during the corona virus pandemic. Mari was helpful in providing helpful tips for the rest of our time planned in Tokyo. I highly recommend utilising Triplelights and booking Mari whilst in Tokyo. It was a great way for us family of five to see some of the highlights of this amazing city and help us become familiar with navigating the metro. I would definitely use Triplelights again. Thank you Mari for a memorable first time in Tokyo.

Mari.K:

Thank you very much for your great review, Kate. I’m impressed that all of your family members are friendly, polite and intelligent. I really enjoyed talking with you on various topics. I’m sure you will have more fun in Tokyo, Kyoto and Nozawa. I hope this Japan trip will be fruitful experience for your family. Thank you again and hope to see you again.

“ Very Helpful Guide ”

Mari was a lovely lady who had a personalised note waiting for us at our hotel. She met us there and was adaptable for our first day to organise our rail and metro passes as well. She took us to an amazing lunch spot and was very patient with my tired boys. Mari would probably be better suited to a couple, as my boys were a challenge, though she was very kind and did her best. Thank you Mari for all your help introducing us to Tokyo.

Mari.K:

Thank you for our review. I am glad you liked Maisen’s lunch. It was pity that your children were too tired from last night flight and gave up going to Mori Digital Museum in Odaiba. I am sure all of you will have a wonderful time in Hakuba, Nagano. Please enjoy skiing with Japanese-power snow.

“ Amazing Night Tour with Limited Time ”

Due to our limited time and in the evening, hiring a tour guide (Mari) was our best choice to get the most out of our short stay. Mari was friendly, professional, and well versed in the history of Narita and Japan in General. Mari assisted/guided in storing our luggage, transit and check-in at our hotel even before our tour started. Once we began, we walked through Narita and stopped by many places en route to the Naritasan Shinshoji Temple. On our way back to the hotel, she made mention of popular restaurants in the area where we enjoyed delectable ramen to warm us up. Thank you Mari!

Mari.K:

Thank you very much for your excellent review. I really appreciated that you gave me a chance to guide you in Narita at night. I really admire you that you take care of your niece with love. You have warm-heated and friendly characters which I really like. Because we had such a nice time, I almost forgot that we strolled in dark at night. Thank you very much again.

“ Very nice and recommended ”

Mari was very helpful and patient in taking us through our trip. She made the effort to pick us up from hotel. She also explained the history behind the various places we visited. We told we are vegetarian and she found a great lunch place on the tour. Highly recommended.

Mari.K:

Thank you very much for your wonderful review. It was my pleasure to guide you in Tokyo. I also think that the vegetarian restaurant was delicious. We were lucky to see beautiful leaf-coloring in Rikugi-en Garden. I hope Jessica feels better now. Please enjoy the rest of your journey in Japan. Thank you again.

“ Best way to spend a Narita Airport layover & experience Japanese culture! ”

Mari helped me make the most of my layover, very efficiently introducing me to Japanese culture. In just four hours, she introduced me to Japanese pastries, we toured a gorgeous temple and grounds, attended a tea ceremony, visited a shrine, strolled the very quaint and historic town of Narita, shopped for personalized chopsticks and other crafts, and ate delicious ramen. Throughout, Mari provided history and context for the many Japanese traditions we witnessed. This was by far the best ever layover! Mari met me at the airport and escorted me back, helping me navigate the 10-minute train ride to Narita. She speaks excellent English and is wonderful! I urge anyone with a Tokyo airport layover to try her tour.

Mari.K:

Thank you very much for your excellent review. I also enjoyed guiding you in Narita. We were lucky; we were able to attend an authentic tea ceremony surrounded a beautiful leaf-coloring garden and to enjoy listening to a comfortable music. There activities were special for that weekend only. I am sure you took a nice break from your business trip and restored your energy for your future work. Thank you again. Regards, Mari
