Is it a pond or river? It used to be an outer moat or canal to protect Edo Castle until about 150 years ago. The then Edo, present Tokyo, used to be the seat of Edo Shogunate. Kagurazaka area is located around here, and the nostalgic atmosphere still retains. You can enjoy walking along a shopping street of unique taste, lined by numerous boutiques, Japanese sweets, and souvenir shops.

You can enjoy shopping while walking around the neighborhood of Tokyo. You can enjoy coffee or ice cream at the ca-fe along the moat. In spring, cherry blossoms in full bloom welcome you. You can touch the taste of neighborhood of Tokyo, which is different from that around the hotel where you're staying. This is another face of Tokyo.

Akira is a fantastic tour guide and an extremely nice person. We went to kawagoe to see the storehouses and go on a soy sauce factory tour. The town was charming with great souvenir options (and much less crowded than some of the attractions in Tokyo). Unfortunately my daughter developed a stomach ache from the night before but Akira was able to help so much. He assisted us in getting her safely back to the hotel in Tokyo and was so helpful in caring for our family. I can’t imagine a better person to work with.
Amanda-san, Ed-san, and Sarah-san. I’m most grateful to you that you sent me such a marvelous review that has become wonderful incentive to me! Although it’s a shame that we didn’t go through the original schedule, I myself had a good time talking with you on the train. I’m impressed that while I was speaking, you were earnestly listened to me. Hope you could touch unique atmosphere of Kawagoe. This was a great experience to see such nice people like you. Ed-san, you’re such an energetic and fascinating person. I’d like to keep contact with you from now onward. *PS: I checked “Harper Trout 2020” Hope you have a good day! Best regards, Akira
My family (husband and two teenage daughters) and I had a wonderful time with Akira exploring theTokyo Station, Tsukiji Fish Market, Hamarikyu Gardens and Asakusa. He was well-versed in the background of the places we visited and especially wanted to show my husband who is an architect, Tokyo Station and another building in Asakusa. He brought us to a delicious restaurant where my husband said it was the best sashimi he had throughout our whole trip in Japan! His English is excellent and was able to educate us on Japanese culture and was curious about life in America so we had many great conversations. I would definitely hire Akira again the next time we are in Tokyo. Thank you Akira for the lovely gift for us to remember our travels in Japan.
Dear Cezanne-san, Matt-san, Hanah-san, and Emily-san. I hope you’re well! Thank you very much for your encouraging message! Sorry for being late for reply. I’m most grateful to you that you sent me such a marvelous review! I’m happy that I myself had a great experience during one-day tour with your family. I’m glad that you enjoyed your stay in Japan. I’m looking forward to helping you again if you happen to have a chance to visit Japan some day. I hope you have a nice day every day in San Francisco. Best regards, Akira
Akira was lovely to communicate with in helping us reach a destination in Tokyo which was difficult as a foreigner. He responded quickly and clearly at all times. When the day of the tour came, he was promptly on time, helped us with exactly what we needed, and even helped us for how to get back into Tokyo afterwards after the tour was done. I have nothing but positive things to say.
Dear Chris-san & Chris-san. Thank you for your quick and wonderful review which is motivating me a lot. I myself had a nice experience thanks to you. I had a good opportunity to learn about Metropolitan Outer Underground Discharge Channel. I hope you enjoy the rest of the tour in Japan. Take care. Best regards, Akira
My family and I (my sister and 2 teen kids) did a customized tour wit Her Akira and we had a great time. We visited Hama-rikyu tea garden, Tsukiji Fish Market, Imperial Palace, Sensoji Temple, Asakusa Shrine, and Skytree. He picked us up from our hotel at 9 and began our journey. The tea garden is so beautiful. It’s a must visit. I was excited about the fish market before I got there but when we arrived it was so awesome. We are some strawberries that were delicious. We also stopped by the Budda temple before we went to the fish market. Arika gives really good information about Tokyo that you wouldn’t know unless you had a guide. The lunch spot he took us to was good as well. My kids loved the food. My family and I enjoyed the day and would use him again if we ever go back.
Dear Dawn-san. Thank you for your nice message. I’m very happy to learn all of you had a good time during the tour. Hama-rikyu Japanese style Gardens was really beautiful and tranquil, wasn’t it? I’d like you to come to Tokyo again. If I have a chance to guide you next time, I’ll introduce many other places to you. I’m looking forward to seeing you again! Keep contact. Best regards, Akira
Akira accomplished with us the highlights of this beautiful area. He is easy to converse with, a true gentleman. Very knowledgeable about the area and history. One could not do better than Akira for a guide!
Dear Joel-san and Karen-san. Thank you very much for such a wonderful and quick review, which is very encouraging momentum to me! Although the weather was not so good, I myself had a very great time thanks to your personality. I’d like to explain Tokyo history again in Tokyo tomorrow. And I also would like you to touch and feel Japanese culture, including cuisine. Looking forward to seeing you soon! Best regards, Akira
