Overview

Is it a pond or river? It used to be an outer moat or canal to protect Edo Castle until about 150 years ago. The then Edo, present Tokyo, used to be the seat of Edo Shogunate. Kagurazaka area is located around here, and the nostalgic atmosphere still retains. You can enjoy walking along a shopping street of unique taste, lined by numerous boutiques, Japanese sweets, and souvenir shops.

What to Expect

You can enjoy shopping while walking around the neighborhood of Tokyo. You can enjoy coffee or ice cream at the ca-fe along the moat. In spring, cherry blossoms in full bloom welcome you. You can touch the taste of neighborhood of Tokyo, which is different from that around the hotel where you're staying. This is another face of Tokyo.

“ Delightful day, easy and fun ”

Akira was a wonderful guide for us. He arranged for a delicious lunch, took us to beautiful gardens and entertained us with info about Tokyo. We would highly recommend him as a guide. We appreciated his flexibility in what we wanted to see. We had never had a personal guide before and we are sold on the idea now!. Thank you Akira!

Akira.S:

Dear Deborah-san and Howard-san. Thank you very much for your nice review which has become good motivation for me. I had a very good talk with you during the tour, I was very surprised that Howard-san knows a lot about Japanese history because he’s a kendo expert. Actually I’ve listened to an English radio program which has given knowledge and information about business world in the US, so when I learned about your job, strategic thought partner, I became very interested in this job. Anyway I had a very memorable time through talk with you. Have a nice time during the rest of the tour, Kyoto, Hiroshima... I’m looking forward to seeing you again some day. Thank you again. Best regards, Akira

“ Our Day of History ”

What an amazing experience and a wonderful guide in Akita He was prompt and courteous in all ways. It was a pleasure to spend time with him as he shared his great love of Japan with us. We travelled to some amazing areas and really enjoyed the whole time. It was raining the whole time but that didn’t stop our wonderful time. Many, many thanks Akita for something that we will long remember.

Akira.S:

Dear Max-san and Beth-san. Thank you for such an encouraging message which has become great incentive for me. The honor is more than I deserve. As you wrote, although it was raining all cold day, I really had a nice time thanks to your friendliness and personality. Actually I was worried before the tour about if you’d be able to have a good time on such a rainy and cold day. But when you said to me it was wonderful time, I was really relieved to hear it and to see such a nice couple. I appreciate again your present and sending me the nicest review. I’m looking forward to seeing you again! Best regards, Akira

“ Excellent guiding for Cherry Blossom ”

I used Akira to plan a 2 day trip in Tokyo during Cherry Blossom for my family. They were impressed with his knowledge and guiding. They found him patient and humble. He also helped arrange their airport pick up and a full day trip to Mt. Fuji on the third day of the trip. Much better than arranging trip with standard tour operator.

Akira.S:

Dear Shree-san. Thank you very much for a very good review which encourages me to be a more valuable tour guide. The tour has become a very good experience for me because this is the first time for me to have a tour with a family from India. I had a very nice time with you for two days. And I’m happy you enjoyed viewing cherry blossoms. Please visit Tokyo again if you have another chance. I look forward to seeing you again. Thank you again. Best regards, Akira

“ Enchanting memorable day in Tokyo ”

First and foremost, Akira is a wonderful warm person, beside being a fantastic knowledgeable and fun tour guide. We had a great time as Akira showed us 3 different sides of Tokyo. Firstly, the vibrant hustle and bustle interesting historic Tsukiji Outer market with a delicious lunch at a nice local sushi/sashimi restaurant, and some shopping afterwards. Then we headed to the nearby beautiful serene Hamarikyu Edo-period Garden. What a nice after lunch walk around the garden and enjoyed a exquisite bowl of matcha green tea and Japanese sweets in the Japanese tea house on the lake. Along the way we hear stories and history of the garden. It’s so enjoyable, comforting, and “zen” relaxing in the midst of busy Tokyo. Thereafter, we took a ferry/water bus to Asakusa, which gave us the feeling of ... read more

Akira.S:

Dear Mandy-san. Thank you for such an encouraging review that has made me much more motivated. Actually I was worried that you might have had a relapse after you had caught a Japanese cold. I hope you’re feeling much better now. You game me one of my most memorable impressions during the tour. I am very much impressed that you were so well prepared for the itineraries. You checked how to purchase the tickets for Takao yourself the day before. And you amazingly knew about Japanese cultures and words. That created a good atmosphere of camaraderie between you and me. I was also surprised that all three members got together through one hairstylist. That’s why I myself had such a great day through the tour. I’d like to say thank you for all of your kindness, friendship and affability... read more
