What to Expect
In this tour, you can visit four most attractive touring spots combining beautiful nature, Japanese food culture and enjoyable Japanese old and modern parts.
Firstly,we'll visit Tsukiji Outer Market which is a main marine product market in Japan. Inside of new facility, about 60 small family-run retail shops, each shop has own specialty selling tuna, eel and so on.
At the outer market, there are about 400 retail shops which are open to the public. Almost all kinds of Japanese ingredients and foods can be found here. This is like a kitchen of Japanese cuisine. You can enjoy buying Japanese food, seasonings, tea, knives, dishware, wrapping goods and so on.
Next, we'll walk to Hamarikyu garden (10 minutes). It is a high class Japanese garden in Tokyo which has about 340- year history. It's used as a detached residence of Tokugawa shogun's family in the Edo era and a guesthouse for foreign diplomats and royal families in the Meiji era. In February 2015, Prince William (England) visited this garden and experienced the tea ceremony. One of the greatest thing is that you can drink finely powdered green tea and a seasonal Japanese confectionery in the tea house which is located in the middle of the pond. Shoguns, ladies and Imperial Court nobles enjoyed the view from here. Why don't you enjoy the tea and sweet while send your thoughts back in time to these eras.
After that, we will enjoy a water bus cruise from Hamarikyu Garden to Asaksua. It takes about 1 hour ride.
Asakusa, it preserves the old atmosphere of Edo era and it's a vivid town. On the way to Sensoji temple, we can enjoy shopping at Nakamise shopping street. It's very fun to see so many kinds of traditional crafts, sweets and souvenirs. Sweets like a small pancake stuffed with red bean paste and rice crackers are famous here. There are several specialized Kimono shops in this area. If you're interested in some particular shops like Kimono, Japanese folding fan or hand towels, I can take you these shops.
At last, we will visit Akihabara where you can feel totally different atmosphere from Asakusa. We'll discover why Japanese subculture attracts so many people and let's see more about anime, manga, games and animal cafe in Akihabara.
