Harajuku is the center of Kawaii culture (Kawaii=cute). It's a must-see area for those into kawaii culture (a favorite among young women). This is a walking tour which includes a visit to fashion streets, back alleys, a shrine, a museum, and the busiest intersection in the world!

What to Expect

It’s a perfect tour for Kawaii-philes (it's a favorite among young girls). The tour includes #s 1 to 6. Please select one or more from options 7 to 14. The optional spots are local favorites. It's difficult to enjoy it without a local resident's help. I will help you "PURIKURA" (cute selfie machine) at Takeshita street! (400JPY)
You'll have quite a collection of pics! = the rainbow-colored cotton candy, the cosplayers (store staff), the dazzling display of products in the stores, the surreal mirror escalator, etc. (we can stare at this all day long!)

“ Tokyo Visit ”

Toshi made our first day in Japan most memorable as she walked us through the process of purchasing IC cards for transportation. Also, she made every effort to ensure that we walked away from our tour at Asakusa, Harajuku, and Shinjuku with loads of knowledge and a genuine appreciation for the Japanese culture. Lastly, Toshi has made a lasting impression on us because she made us comfortable in a new environment and most importantly we felt as though we were apart of her family!

Toshi(T-chan):

Thank you, sis! Being with you was like spending the day with a younger sister. Girl talk is fun while window-shopping! So glad you enjoyed the many stores in Asakusa and Harajuku. The 3D Latte Art was undoubtedly the highlight of our tour. You and your daughter are quite good at researching these places. Our lattes came with foam art of Totoro, an elephant, and Hachi-ko (the faithful dog). They were almost too cute to consume! The photos don't do them justice. With your daughter's wonderful attitude and keen interest in Japanese culture, I'm quite sure she'll have fun spending more time here in the future. Come join her! Harajuku is an ever-changing town. Please come back and let me show you more of "my" Tokyo!

“ Very knowledgeable guide! ”

Toshi was a wonderful guide for us in Tokyo. She is kind, very intelligent, and has a very good sense of humor. She provided a good summary of Japanese history and culture as we toured, including the basis of Shinto and the assimilation of Buddhism in Japan. We highly recommend Toshi!

Toshi(T-chan):

Glad to hear you enjoyed our tour, Virginia! I aim to please! It was great to spend time with you and your husband. Your suggestion of an early start was inspired. We were able to make the most of the beautiful weather and managed to see a lot of places before the weekend crowd came. As you mentioned, most Japanese people are raised observing both Shinto and Buddhist practices and rituals. They're both part of our unique culture. Enjoy the rest of your stay! Hope you can come back soon? Autumn perhaps? There's so much more to see and experience!

“ Excellent Guide ”

Thank you T-Chan for a a great overview of Tokyo. We covered alot in our 4 hours, T-Chan has great knowledge and speaks english beautifully. I would recommend T-Chan. Thanks Cherie

Toshi(T-chan):

Thank you, Cherie-chan! It was fun to see you enjoy "My Tokyo"! We had two local delicacies in Asakusa--melon pan (sweet bun covered with cookie crust) and daigaku imo (fried sweet potato covered in a sugary coat). Yummy and very filling! It's a good thing we were able to burn the calories by walking at the Imperial Palace grounds. It was an interesting contrast between the traditional (samurai castle gate) and the contemporary (high-rise office buildings). I hope you were able to take a lot of nice photos! Please come back soon! There's so much more I have to show you! Hope to see you again!

“ We visited in Tokio the Asakusa area with the Sensoji Temple, the Imperial Palace gates and garden, ending our visit to Odaiba island ”

We liked the tour and especially the Imperial Palace with its beautiful garden. Toshi is a knowledgeable guide and she gave us interesting information about the new Emperor that was going to be named after his father retirement. It was the Golden Week vacation and Odaiba island was very crowded. We are looking forward to go back in a different season and fully appreciate the city

Toshi(T-chan):

Grazie, Luigi! Glad to hear you enjoyed our tour as much as I did. So happy to hear you liked the east garden of the Imperial Palace! The colorful azalea garden was very pretty, wasn’t it? I hope you can come back in time for the fall foliage in late autumn. The Japanese maple trees at the Imperial Palace will all be in their "red dresses" then. Let's check it out together!

“ A very resourceful person with great knowledge base of Tokyo ”

My wife and I had a wonderful time with this guide. I covered all that was requested and more. The guide was timely resourceful and knowledgeable. Thanks Ram

Toshi(T-chan):

Thank you, Cel and Ram! I hope you enjoyed your layover in Tokyo. It was fortunate that we managed to see some of the late-blooming cherry blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen Garden. Sooo romantic to see such a loving couple taking selfies amidst all the seasonal blooms, like the azaleas and wisterias. Have fun going over the souvenir photos! We were just in time to catch Godzilla roaring and spewing smoke in Shinjuku. Although it's supposed to terrorize sightseers, it's more fascinating than scary, don't you think? I hope you both come back so we can explore more of Tokyo together. Perhaps on your way back home? Or on a different season maybe? Hope to see you again!
