What to Expect

This tour can be held for single to four people.
In this tour you will take a short trip to Shibamata where you can experience more traditional side of tokyo.
To get to Shibamata, it will take approximately 1 hour from central Tokyo.

There is a very famous old Japanese movie called "Otoko wa tsurai yo"
meaning it's tough to being a dude directed by Yoji Yamada.
Because the main character is from Shibamata, this area became more popular after this movie broadcasted.

Shibamata is small area but there are many things to see.
You will walk down the main shopping street called Taishakuten-Sando.
Along this street you will see many Japanese food shops such as rice clackers, Japanese pickles,
Yakitori(grilled chicken skewered with bamboo stick) and so on.

At the end of the street you will see a huge wooden architecture.
It is a main gate to the Taishakuten Temple. I will take you to the main temple and
wooden sculpture gallery after the gate.

After that we will visit Yamamoto-tei where you can see a beautiful traditional Japanese garden.
We will enjoy green tea there.

At the end of the tour I will take you buck to the Shibamata station.
I will tell you how to get your next destination from the station.

“ Lisa is great! ”

I have worked with a number of different guides in Japan, all of them excellent, but Lisa was the best! Her English is excellent, and she is extremely knowledgable and thoughtful. I couldn't have asked for more. Although she looks quite young, she actually has many years experience guiding professionally and as a volunteer, and it showed in every facet of her work! Couldn't have been better.

“ Anime/Manga Tour for 14 year old cosplayer daughter ”

I can't say enough praises for Lisa. She goes above and beyond to accomodate you. Before the tour started she helped with our luggage storage and after tour she led us to our rental apartment and made sure everything was in order before leaving. My daughter enjoyed the tour very much. She said it was the best day of our entire vacation. We went to several places and got English manga, reasonable priced cosplay costume & anime merchandises. We also looked through some kawaii stuff. Lisa is very patient and interact in English well with us.She arranged our meal according to our Muslim dietary restrictions and it was also budget friendly.I must say,by the end of the day she feels more of a friend then a guide. I won't hesitate to book her again if ever I needed a guide.

Hi Linda, thank you very much for your great review! I had GREAT time with you all. I was very happy when I saw your daughter was enjoying her shopping. She will be very happy wearing that cosplay costume in an event next month. I wish I could be there to see her! The stories about your culture, especially about Kadazan was very interesting. I hope I can visit you some day. Please keep in touch!!

“ Delightful half-day with Lisa ”

We had such a wonderful time with Lisa. She showed us around our hotel's neighborhood and got us all set up with train passes. What a huge help for the rest of our week! She took us to the Meiji Jingu Shrine and surrounding areas, did a little shopping and she joined us for lunch. She is very knowledgeable, flexible, friendly and fun. Would HIGHLY recommend her to any type of traveler. We miss you Lisa!!

Hi Paula, thank you for your message! I had GREAT time with you and Patrick too! Sorry for the cold rain at the beginning but I liked your idea that you can even enjoy rain because it's rare in Arizona. Hope you guys enjoyed the rest of your trip too. I will be visiting you guys in Arizona. Please take care!

My experience with Lisa as my tour guide was very good. She speaks English well and did a good job of communicating her knowledge of the areas we visited. I especially appreciated her great attitude and willingness to be helpful. The Tokyo train system can be quite confusing. But she explained everything well enough that I could actually go places on the trains by myself. Thanks Lisa!

Dear John/Mack Thank you very much for having me as your guide and sending such a great review. I had a great time with you. I was very happy to know that you arrived at Narita airport with no problems. Yay! Let's try a Shinkansen tour to Hiroshima next time. Hope we can see each other soon. Thanks!
