This tour, I will show you my favorite area in Tokyo. I live in about 15 minutes by metro from this area, so I visit quite often there.
This tour features sections of urban bustle and peaceful quiet zone with different personalities coexisting side by side.
Meiji-jingu is grandest Shinto shrine in Tokyo situated in a 700,000 square meter forest in Shibuya.
It is a special oasis in the midst of all the big-city hustle and bustle.
Omotesando, Aoyama area,it's a fashionable strip lined with high-end boutiques. Those designer shops come in designer buildings so also one of the best places in the city to see contemporary architecture.
Nezu museum in Aoyama designed by Kengo Kuma who designs 2020 Tokyo Olympic main stadium.
This museum preserve and display Japanese and East Asia antique art from the collection of it's founder, Kaichiro Nezu.
Finally, we move to Shibuya and cross one of the world's busiest intersection, guaranteed to give you a "I'm in Tokyo!" feeling.
It was the first day of our first ever visit to Tokyo. Atsuko put together an itinerary that had us visit the major highlights and gave us a great orientation of the city. She showed us how to use public transit and suggested some wonderful places to visit for the next days when we would be on our own. Her English is excellent and she relates very well to Americans which made our day a lot of fun. She easily conveyed her knowledge of history and culture of Japan. Overall we had a great day and I would strongly suggest Atsuko as a guide and we would use her next time in Tokyo.
Atsuko was a great and pleasant company with her fine education and professional competence. Without her assistance we would have been unable to carry out the schedule we had worked out.
My wife and I could not have chosen a better and informative guide. Her knowledge of the city and the highlights was fantastic, and getting to know her personally was such pleasant experience. If you are lucky to get her, you will be rewarded with a great personality. That smile of hers equals the beauty of Sakura.
Atsuko was just a great guide, knowledgeable, extremely helpful and an absolutely charming person to spend two days with as you enjoyed Tokyo
Great guide! She will take you to some really nice (old Tokyo) places you will probably not find without a local.
