What to Expect

The full day tour covers our most fascinating destinations in Tokyo. I show you around five destinations; Kyu Shiba Rikyu Garden, Tsukiji Fish Market, Ueno Park, Akihabara Electric Town and Ginza Street. Shiba Rikyu Garden is a classic Japanese landscape garden, and you may see a newly married couple wearing traditional wedding clothes. No doubt, Tsukiji Fish Market is the largest fish market in the world. Overall, more than 700,000 metric tons of seafood are handled every year. Ueno Park is the best place in Tokyo to watch cherry blossom in April. The park contains the country’s most famous Ueno Zoo, National Museum, National Museum of Western Arts, National Science Museum, Metropolitan Fine Art Gallery, besides Toshogu Shrine. Enjoy shopping or window shopping at topnotch stores on the Ginza Streets.

“ Tsukiji Fish Market Tour ”

Akio promptly met us at our hotel to take us to Tsukiji Fish Market Tour in the morning. We toured the inner and outer shops - it's a fast paced market place and was good to have someone take us there, navigate the way around since we didn't have much time. Go and see the market before they move!

Mr. Akio is a very friendly tour guide. He managed to arrange our tour according to the places we wanted. The tour is well-planned, organized and very informative. Thank you so much Mr. Akio. By the way, I hope you can send me the photos from your camera. Arigatou!

Akio was very polite and punctual. However his English was not so good and he offered very little explanation of the sights we saw. It was difficult to understand what he was saying and difficult to have a conversation with him as he didn't listen very well. We wanted to go to the fish market which was not on his usual tour however he did take us but there was nothing to see as it had finished so it was a waste of time and lots of time spent on the subway. As a client it would be better for him to be honest and to tell us that as a guide to perhaps go another time. To be fair He offered alternatives like Ginza street but we didn't want that. Akio looked after us well on the many subways and trains we took. I would only recommend him for 2stars and really only for jJapanese groups wanting a very limited tour of the sights as I don't feel his English was good enough.

Akio does not understand English as well as we had hoped and we did not get very much explanation about the places in Tokyo we visited. He was helpful in getting us from place to place by subway. For 80 years old, he does have a lot of energy.

Akio was very prompt on arrival in morning but we feel there wasn't any information given on places we visited. We back tracked a lot of the time and I felt he didn't really know where we were going, especially at tsujiku market and some train stations. English also not very good , overall very disappointed.

Akio is a well-informed tour guide. Definitely was a pleasure to have him take us around tokyo for the day. Definitely would recommend him to anyone considering a day tour around tokyo. Obviously can't see it all in one day but at least we hit some really good spots around the city.

Perfect vacation thanks to Akio. First thing I did on my first day in Tokyo was set off on foot / rail / bus with Akio. His easy manner and in depth knowledge of Japanese history and how it related to everything we saw left me feeling oriented and ready to explore on my own for the remainder of my visit. He has a great sense of humor and I highly recommend him.

We highly recommend our tour guide in Tokyo, Akio Horisaki. We had a great time despite many hours of walking. He is already 80 years old but he is agile. Such an inspiration for us to strive to reach such age healthy and happy. He said that the secret to a long and healthy life is to not worry and always be positive. Thank you very much, Akio Horisaki. We admire your strength, patience and dedication. We hope to see you again soon.

Akio was a wonderful guide and we very much enjoyed our time with him. He was very warm and helped us with a problem we were having arranging a car service on Jan 2 ( a very busy day in Toyko. Thank you Akio!

Akio was super knowledgeable and a great guide to get to know Tokyo. I learnt and now have a better understanding of the different areas of Tokyo and most important I was able to learn to use the subway. That is a must in Tokyo. I was also able to do some shopping with him which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Akio was very warm and friendly. I scheduled the tour for myself and my co-workers. Akio was very good at helping keep the largish group together even with fairly crowded trains and public spaces. He was knowledgable of the sites we visited and had a great sense of humor.

Akio is an outstanding tour guide. He shares his vast knowledge of Japan, it's culture and history. He develops the tour to suit your needs and adjusts as needed. You are the boss of your experience. I particularly appreciated he paced the tour to my limited abilities yet we walked over 5 miles.

Overall the tour did not meet our expectation, because we spent most of the times on transportation, leaving a small fraction of time for sight seeing. In addition we have hard time to understand the tour guide's English

He was good guide, friendly and talkative. I need to call him again on our next trip to Japan.

First time in Japan and our tour guide was excellent Mr Horisaki is very kind and gentle man, he treated us like his daughters, the day went very fast because of his high spirited personality. Mr Horisaki took time out to example the history of his country. When we return back to Japan we will contact him again. Thank you for helping my sister get her cough sweets. God bless.

My family greatly enjoyed our tour with Akio. He kept us moving along so that we could fit everything in that we wanted to see, but also gave us time to linger and/or take pictures at favorite spots. My kids loved Akio, as he was very attentive, humorous and friendly and answered all of our questions. His knowledge of the train system was invaluable, as we would have been lost had we tried to navigate on our own at first. We would not hesitate to use his services again in the future.

My family and I spent a wonderful day being shown around Tokyo by Akio. He met us when and where we asked, speaks English well, has a great sense of humor and made us feel like we were out of town family. We got a great overview of the city, he took us where we wanted to go, recommended additional places we might want to see, and brought us to a fantastic (and reasonably priced) sushi place for lunch. We never felt rushed and he was extremely patient with us all day- even though we went passed the time we had reserved. What made it special for us was not just what he showed us but also watching how my teenage boys really connected with him. For a small group of first time visitors who want an easy paced tour, Akio is a great choice.
