Basic concept of this tour is to cover all the key sites of Tokyo. You will see both the old and new faces of Metropolitan Tokyo. Tokyo has a unique and dynamic history after its designation as Japan's capital in 1868. This tour is based on public transportation, so it will involve some walkings. Regardless of the season, I will include the seasonal beauty of Tokyo for your best pleasure.
Feel free to personalize this offer with Tsutomu.
Hotel Pick up
Any transportation fee for guest and guide
Any meals for the guest
Any admission fee for the guest
For the public transport, the total cost should be minimal such as Yen 2000 for all day per adult. So, if walking is no problem, I would recommend the public transport and walking. Above tour plan is based on the idea of using public transport. (I would like to ask you to reimburse this Yen 2000 for me also.)
If you need a hired vehicle for any reasons, you could book a car or a van through Triple Lights. The standard cost for a hired vehicle would be approx. Yen 7000 per hour. This way, your mobility will be easier compared with the public transport and walking but of course, it will cost more. read more

It would be impossible to overstate just how much we enjoyed the company of Tom. His English is excellent. He was nice enough to explain not just what we were seeing, but the meaning behind what we were seeing. He explained during the day a lot of nuances about Japanese history and culture that made many things in Japan much more understandable. His suggestion for lunch venue was excellent. He explained how the trains work within Tokyo which made a difference for the rest of our stay. He also offered some really useful suggestions for further things to see as he got to know us. Nothing was too much trouble. By the end of the day, we felt as though he was an old friend rather than someone we met for the first time that morning. We highly recommend him.
Great guide and nice person. Modified trip to our needs. Highly recommend
Richard from Tom, Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate you for helping me to try my best to give you my best. My service would be the reflecting of how nice of the people you are. In that context, I learned a lot from you - how to be nice with others. I will miss you and will be hopping I will guide people like you in my next assignment - maybe someday I will guide YOU again! My best wishes for you!!!
We spent two days exploring the many sites that Tokyo has to offer with Tom. We covered 23 miles over these days, utilized public transportation, and experienced things of historical, religious, and cultural importance to the city of Tokyo during this time. From the Shibuya Crossing to the Meiji Shrine, Asakusa, Tokyo Skytree, Ginza, The Imperial Palace, and so much more, we greatly enjoyed our tour and felt that we got a good grasp on the key sites and neighborhoods of the greater Tokyo area. Tom is not only a great guide, but a great person as well. Before arriving in Japan he ensured the itinerary covered what we wanted to see, helped answer any questions we had about our trip, and inquired about any dietary restrictions before booking meals for our tour. He met us at the train stati... read more
To Grant, Natalie and Holcomb from Tom, I want to thank you for your kind and generous review. I have certainly tried my very best in my guiding this time and the biggest reason of why I could do so was because of the wonderful guests - you !!! You really helped me to help you to spend a good time during the tour and you have consistently been kind and thoughtful. During the tour, I noticed that you really care about others, which you may not be really aware as you do so unconciously. You have a wonderful character of naturally caring about the people without even thinking about it. I feel so lucky that I met you. It really was fun to be with Holcomb. You will be enjoying every moment as he healthily grows up. Please do enjoy and cherish every moment of it !!! I hope one day again, I wi... read more
Tom is fabulous guide. He is professional, personable, knowledgeable and fun. His objective was to provide us a great Tokyo experience and he exceeded his goal.
Thank you for your kind review.
We greatly enjoyed our day with Tom. We started by visiting the Senso-ji Buddhist Temple in Asakusa, and wandering through the shopping street with its many crafts and stores. Tom taught us much about Buddhist and Shinto culture and ritual and about Japanese society. Given our interest in traditional crafts, we were extremely happy that Tom arranged a lesson for us in the art of making wood block prints at an excellent shop with skilled craftspeople and artists. We had a lovely lunch and afterward visited the Akihabara neighborhood with its lively youth culture and Sega game complex. As a guide, Tom was friendly, engaging, and thoughtful about our safety, enjoyment and comfort. Tom is generous and very caring and has extremely good communication skills. If we return to Japan, we would love... read more
Susan, I want to thank you for your generous review with kind words. I have been reviewing the tour for myself with fond memories with you and your beautiful family. I have learned a lot in spending the quality time with you !! As we tour guides always say, the greatest joy in our job is meeting with nice people and that' exactly what I fortunately had on July 13. You were consistently kind and caring, which made job rewarding and worthwhile. Japan has 4 wonderful seasons, so I hope you will have an opportunity of enjoying some other seasons next time when you visit Japan. At that time, I look forward to tour guiding you with seasonal beauty of Japan at that time !!! Sincerely, Tom
