Overview

There are various kinds of museums in Tokyo. It is a nice idea to visit some of them based on your interests. In case you did not have chance to study Japanese culture and history, combination of seeing towns and visiting museums gives you a good sight about Japan. Please advise me what is your interest, I will select the best museum and places to visit to maximize your satisfaction.

What to Expect

To enjoy Tokyo, visiting famous places like Asakusa and Tsukiji is one of the ways. However another way is to explore museums in Tokyo to deepen your appreciation about Japan. There are many museums in Tokyo and museums I listed are not all. Based upon your interest, I can make a plan for you. For example, visiting Edo-Tokyo museum first and visit Asakusa and Imperial palace afterward . Because, after you see miniature of old Tokyo and Edo castle which is current Imperial palace in the museum, visiting those places gives you different view of interest. If you wish to enjoy shopping and Japanese art and culture, visiting Nezu museum first to feel atmosphere of silence which is one of characteristics of Japanese culture. Then you enjoy shopping at Omote-sando and at the end visit Ohta museum to see Ukiyoe which is old wood block printing . This is a combination of old Japanese culture and contemporary Japanese lifestyle. If you like to get nice view of Tokyo along with enjoying art, visiting Mori museum and National Art center is the ideal one. If your interest is knowing Japanese progress from ancient to current, visiting Ueno is the best selection.
Above list is one of the example. by knowing your interest, I can tailor a plan for you. Therefore, please let me know what you like to see and learn.

“ Three excellent tours with a very well informed guide ”

We spent three fantastic days with Hiroshi exploring contemporary and traditional Japanese culture and visiting Hakone. He was a well informed, interesting and engaging guide who was happy to answer all our random questions about life in Japan. Hiroshi was very organised and made sure that we saw lots of different places in the days we spent with him. He was also invaluable in the run up to the trip, giving us advice on money, travel arrangements and places to visit. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hiroshi as a guide.

Hiroshi:

Dear Sarah Thank you very much for your great review. I am very happy to find you spent good time with me. It was my first time to have a kid as my customer. The happiest thing for me was to see Pat's smile in any places. I hope my guiding supported him to know about Japan as well as you. Please make another chance to visit Japan and to meet again.

“ Perfect Day in Tokyo ”

Hiroshi outlined a plan for a day in Tokyo along the lines of our suggestions. He managed this perfectly and kept to the plan admirably. He was sensitive to our personal needs as well as answering all our questions in depth and with good humour. His English was excellent to the point that we did not notice he was Japanese. Hiroshi’s knowledge of Japanese history was first class, right through the Shogun era and modern times. We would commend him to you as a great guide with complete confidence. Martin and Robyn Johnson Sydney, Australia

Hiroshi:

Dear Martin and Robyn I am very happy to find you enjoyed a day in Tokyo with me. And thank you very much for very positive review about my guideing. If you have another chance to come to Japan, I am very please to spend time with you. Hope you will have great time in Australia. Best regards Hiroshi
