Overview

There are various kinds of museums in Tokyo. It is a nice idea to visit some of them based on your interests. In case you did not have chance to study Japanese culture and history, combination of seeing towns and visiting museums gives you a good sight about Japan. Please advise me what is your interest, I will select the best museum and places to visit to maximize your satisfaction.

What to Expect

To enjoy Tokyo, visiting famous places like Asakusa and Tsukiji is one of the ways. However another way is to explore museums in Tokyo to deepen your appreciation about Japan. There are many museums in Tokyo and museums I listed are not all. Based upon your interest, I can make a plan for you. For example, visiting Edo-Tokyo museum first and visit Asakusa and Imperial palace afterward . Because, after you see miniature of old Tokyo and Edo castle which is current Imperial palace in the museum, visiting those places gives you different view of interest. If you wish to enjoy shopping and Japanese art and culture, visiting Nezu museum first to feel atmosphere of silence which is one of characteristics of Japanese culture. Then you enjoy shopping at Omote-sando and at the end visit Ohta museum to see Ukiyoe which is old wood block printing . This is a combination of old Japanese culture and contemporary Japanese lifestyle. If you like to get nice view of Tokyo along with enjoying art, visiting Mori museum and National Art center is the ideal one. If your interest is knowing Japanese progress from ancient to current, visiting Ueno is the best selection.
Above list is one of the example. by knowing your interest, I can tailor a plan for you. Therefore, please let me know what you like to see and learn.

“ Excellent Guide! ”

Hiro was the best guide we've had and was one of the highlights of our trip to Tokyo. We had Hiro booked for only one day and wanted to see as much as we could. Hiro's english is great, and he was very prompt responding to emails and helped set up an itinerary tailored to our interests. In one day he took us to multiple temples and museums. He was prompt and prepared--he even carried some reference material with him to show us as we learned about the history of Japan. Hiro is funny and energetic--we could barely keep up! Excellent experience. Thank you Hiro!

Hiroshi:

Dear Reed Thank you very much to evaluate me with such great words. I think you returned to your home safely. I am sure you enjoyed your tour in Japan very much. And I am happy by knowing you satify my guiding. You and your girlfriend are very nice and if you have a chance to come to Japan again, I wish to be your guide again. I hope you will have a lots of success and prosperity. Sincerely yours Hiroshi

“ Outstanding experience, more then we expected ”

Hiroshi was our guide for several days in Tokyo and Kamakura. His guidance and companionship exceeded all our expectations. In addition to a deep knowledge of Japan, he also has an excellent English, which made communication enjoyable. While learning history of Japan, customs and traditions, we also laughed comparing our western tradition with Japanese, and greatly enjoyed his company. He took us to eat to an excellent Japanese restaurants and showed different kinds of local food. After we left Tokyo to continue our itinerary to other cities, he kept checking on how we are doing and texted which trains we should take, places we should visit, etc. We highly recommend Hiroshi to anyone who wants a fun, educational and stress-free experience!

Hiroshi:

Dear Lana Thank you very much for your great comment. While you are in Japan, no matter where you aree, you are my guest. It means it is my role to make sure you travel smoothly. As long as you have plesure, I am very happy. Please enjoy rest of days in Japan and if there is anything I can do to make your tour more enjoyable one, please do not hesitate to contact me.

“ First time visit to Tokyo ”

Hiro is an excellent tour guide and we had a fabulous day taking in the history and culture of Japan. Hiro was very informative and he has a great sense of humour. His English is excellent. Hiro collected us from our hotel and navigated the complex subway system easily. We visited the Edo Museum, Imperial Palace East Garden and the Meiji Shrine. After a great day Hiro accompanied us back to the train station.

Hiroshi:

Dear Judy and Peter It was my great pleasure to be your guide. And thank you very much for your great evaluation. I am glad to know you understood Japanese culture and history. You are great couple like camphor trees in Meiji Shrine. I think you are now on the way to Narita airport and wish you to have great and enjoyable days in London. I hope I can see you again. Hiro

“ Day trip from Yokohama ”

If you are looking for an alternative to a cruise ship tour, do not hesitate to hire Hiroshi. He is an excellent guide! We thoroughly enjoyed our trip from Yokohama to Tokyo. Hiroshi handled every detail for us and he provided insights and engaging conversation throughout the day. I learned so much from Hiroshi and really appreciated his careful planning and attention to detail. If you want to explore independently but are unsure of how to use public transportation, hire Hiroshi :)

Hiroshi:

Dear Suzanne Thank you very much for your review of my tour. As you enjoyed, I enjoyed a lot with you. As a guide, knowing the public transportation is a basic but an important element. I am sure you spent excellent time in your cruise. If you have chance to visit Japan again, I wish to be your guide again. Best regards Hiroshi

“ First visit to Tokyo ”

We were a group of four and we all thoroughly enjoyed our day with Hiroshi, visiting the Meiji Shrine, the temple in Azakusa and the Edo Museum. Hiroshi was so knowledgeable and this made our day so much more interesting. The weather was rather wet and he suggested visiting the Edo Museum to learn more about the Edo era, rather than an outside visit. This was an excellent way to learn about this period of time and we all felt that we had learnt so much about Japanese culture and the development of Tokyo. Hiroshi was so helpful prior to our visit , with lots of information about places we are to visit and this has made our holiday in Japan so enjoyable. Would recommend Hiroshi to anyone looking for an interesting visit to major sites in Tokyo. Thank you from us all.

Hiroshi:

I hope you will enjoy cruise tour arou d Japan stzrting today. If you nsed any help, please do not hesitate to make contact me. It will be my great pleasure to help you. Best regards Hiroshi
