Overview

This tour offers one of Tokyo's most popular districts of Harajyuku and Shibuya in which you will find both traditional and modern Japan.
A solemn Meiji shrine, fashionable Takeshita street, Shibuya Scramble Crossing and more!! The final destination can be chosen by the customer from Shinjuku, Tokyo tower or Roppongi. You can also enjoy Japanese food culture in this tour!!

What to Expect

This tour focuces on the west side of central Tokyo, which is a fashion district for young people. Believe it or not, however, it is enjoyable for all the generations!!
Meiji shrine is a solem shrine dedicated to the Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken. It is so peaceful with thousands of trees that you may forget you are in the world busiest city of Tokyo. It is called an oasis of Tokyo.
Oposite side of Harajyuku station is Takeshitadori street which is lined up with catchy shops and food stands that sell coloful and fancy clothes and food. Once you enter the street, you will be enchanted by its enthusiastic atmosphere. Visiting animal Cafe or Kawaii Monster Cafe can be an experience!!
*Ota Memorial Museum Of Art which is just 5 minutes away from Harajyuku station fetures traditional Japanese Ukiyoe or woodblock prints created in the Edo period. It's worth visiting and looking at those works not only as an Art but also a material to know what Japanese people were doing, wearing, eating back then. Nezu museum has small but a nice Japanese garden.

Then the tour offers you the world famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing where almost 3,000 people cross from all directions without batting each other! Just standing at the site reminds you one scene from a movie! There is also a statue of Hachi, the dog which was loyal to his master. If you hear his story, you will want to take a picture or two wiht Hachi!!

About the final destination, I will leave it to you!! You have three choises; *Route 1. Shinjuku, *Route 2. Tokyo tower and Zojoji temple, *Route 3. Hiei shrine or Roppongi. All the three options have a building or tower with an observation floor and you can enjoy the spectacular view of Greater Tokyo from there.

“ A real Tokyo experience in just eight hours ”

Traveling alone for my first business trip to Japan. The wish of understanding the culture of the country, how people live, who they are, basically having a real experience of Tokyo. How do you accomplish all this if you only have one day free? I was extremely lucky to meet Eiko through the Triple Lights website. We started chatting as she wanted to know my objective of hiring a guide. And she was able to tailor on my desires the perfect Tokyo experience. She is absolutely an experienced guide who, thanks to her professionalism, her deep Knowledge of every angle of Tokyo, her adaptability, her friendly attitude made me feel like walking around the city with a friend . We visited historical palaces, temples, crowded streets. We had a taste of amazing local food. We took the metro, w... read more

Hi Christina, Thank you very much for spending your precious time to write a review especially after a long work day. And it is a great great great review and I feel ecstatic!! Thank you!!:-) It was a very hot day but we walked a lot, didn’t we!! The parasol and Tenugui, a cotton cloth worked well. :-) We talked about many things during the tour. I was very happy to see you enjoying the lotus flowers, scenery, food, culture, nature even Japanese history that I introduced you. We shared delicious local food together! And you also taught me many things that you’ve learnt through your business trips in other countries. Thank you!! I was so much comfortable throughout the.tour. Maybe we were just the two girls of us. Anyway, thank you for having me as your Tokyo guide!! I’m looking forward ... read more

“ Fantastic guide! Highly recommended! ”

My husband, 10 year old son and I booked Eiko twice... First, for our 1st day in Tokyo to help us get acquainted with Suica cards, the transit system, and make train reservations. Our son also requested a visit to the Hokusai museum and some fun character-toy shopping. Eiko is very kind and knowledgeable and knew all the perfect spots to go. We booked her a second day later in our trip to guide us around Hakone and her experience with all the different forms of transportation was much appreciated. From first contact, it was easy to communicate with Eiko and make arrangements. Our son asked me to say “She was really good at being a guide!” Agreed!

Eiko:

Hi Allyson, How is your Japan trip going?! I think it is almost ending, but I’m sure you’ve made a lot of nice memories! Thank you very much for sparing time to write a review especially when you were busy. And it is so nice!! Your son Bodhi was an intelligent young artist!! And It was my pleasure to be with all you for two days. I can easily recall your smile faces, which bring me something warm in my heart. Thank you for having me as your Japan guide! I hope you can come back to Japan soon. And I’m looking forward to hearing from you soon!! Take care, Eiko

“ Friendly, easy-going & knowledgeable ”

We really enjoyed our day with Eiko. She helped give us a great intro to Tokyo, and by the end of the day felt like a family friend. Speaks excellent English due to several years living in the US. We highly recommend her to you as a guide.

Eiko:

Hi Peter, Thank you very much for this wonderful review. You were such an intelligent family that you always showed your interests while listening to my guiding even in the rain. And again, let me apologize that Kabukiza was over crowded, didn’t allow us to see a single act. That was one of the things on your wish list. I hope you could enjoy Kabukiza gallery instead. I can’t say thank you enough for your understanding and generosity. And I felt exactly the same way about your family at the end of our tour!! I hope to see all of you again soon in the near future!! Have a great rest of your Japan trip! And Take care, Arigato gozaimashita !! Eiko

“ Wonderful Tour Guide for Tokyo ”

Eiko is a wonderful tour guide for Tokyo! Extended the tour couple hours longer to visit more location and she was very accommodating! She is excellent and highly recommended!

Eiko:

Thank you so much for a great review with 5 stars!! It was also a fun tour to me too especially because I could see Trenton and Alicia's big smaile faces when they found their favorite things about Japan; anime related goods such as Naruto T-shrit, Hello Kitty goods, a samurai sword like umbrella, etc. :-) :-) I was also vrey happy because you liked the soba noodle place that I picked for your lunch! And more and more!! I definitly believe you will come back to Japan soon! Take care, all of you!! Eiko

“ We had a wonderful day with Eiko!! ”

Our tour was great and we really enjoyed meeting Eiko and having her take us around Tokyo. All of her suggestions were perfect for our small group of first time visitors to Tokyo. We went to Tsukiji fish market and had delicious sushi. We went to Ginza, Asakusa, the Imperial Palace garden, Meiji Temple, Harajuku and Shibuya. We had a wonderful lunch and coffee break as well. The day was very enjoyable with lots of walking and great information shared along the way. The weather the day of our tour was not great (drizzle and rain most of the day), but we still enjoyed everything we saw and did. Eiko did a great job keeping everyone interested even though we had different ages (26 and 15 year old with mom). I would highly recommend a tour with Eiko!!

Eiko:

Hi Debbi, thank you for such a wonderful review!! I’m so much happy to hear you enjoyed the tour especially because Tokyo was your final destination of your Japan trip and you’ve seen and visited many beautiful places. I myself enjoyed the girls only tour very much!! It was rather a long tour and we walked a lot and talked about many subjects. I felt very comfortable throughout our tour. I’m hoping to see you again soon!! Have a safe and comfortable flight back home, Debbi!! Take care, Eiko
