Overview

I recommend ending up the day with the night view of the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Bay, the most beautiful night view in Tokyo I would like you to see.

We will visit the spots you would like to in Tokyo.
I will make an itinerary based on your choices and requests.

Sightseeing spots in Tokyo is widely spread, so I guess we can only visit three or four spots a day.

What to Expect

You can see one of the most beautiful night view of the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Bay.

I recommend ending up the day with the night view of the Rainbow Bridge and the Tokyo Bay, the most beautiful night view in Tokyo I would like you to see.

Please choose the spots of your interest and let me know.

For shopping, Takeshita Street in Harajuku is mainly aimed for teenagers, Ginza has one of the biggest UNIQLO shop, Nissan Crossing and Ginza Six,which has an excellent Art book store, and Nihonbashi is the place for the mature that locals will also do shopping.

For typical tourist souvenirs, you can get them at places like Asakusa, Tokyo Tower, Solamachi: Skytree town and Akihabara.

About observatory, I will try to include some free ones near the spots we will visit.

Tokyo Sky Tree is 634m high, but a little bit distant from the Center of Tokyo and surrounded by lower buildings, so you might find Tokyo Tower (333m) or Tokyo City View in Roppongi more satisfactory to see the Contemporary Tokyo.

If you're interested in cherry blossoms which blooms during winter, we can see them at the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace, Hibiya Street, huge Shinjuku Gyoen Gardens, and Ueno Park.

Important

The sightseeing spots are scattered around the big City of Tokyo, e.g. from Asakusa to Meiji Shrine would take approximately forty-five minutes.
I will do my best to visit all the places you request, however maybe we could only visit two or three more places a day.
Shopping spots might take much more time, because there are quite crowded and shopping usually takes time.

We will basically use Tokyo Metro One day Ticket ¥600, but if you have JR Pass or would like to see the City itself from the train, we will use JR, too, if you would like to.

We are supposed to walk a lot, so PLEASE WEAR WALKING SHOES.
Highheels or sandals might give you a hard time. There is no cab services in the Japanese Gardens or Ueno Park :-)

East Gardens will be closed on Mondays and Fridays and the Tokyo National Museum will be closed on Mondays except National Holidays.

There is BAGGAGE INSPECTION at the entrances of East Gardens and the Observatory of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government.

Please let me know the places that you would like to visit and what you're interested in, so I could include places matching your interest. read more

Hi, I'm Yoko, a National License Tour Guide.
Having Lived in Seattle, Washington for six years in my childhood, I speak with an American accent.
Now I live within a walking distance from Ueno Park, Tokyo, so I see a lot of people from abroad walking around in my neighborhood every day.
(I'm giving some discounts on some of the tours, because the cost factor seems to matter for the first reviewer, and I would appreciate if you could see things better at a reasonable price and I'm keen to introduce the places, so please check them out.)

"Tokyo is larger than we thought and the transportations are so complicated," Swedish guys told me the other day. I'm here to help you. I know well about Tokyo, Yokohama, Yamanashi etc.
I would appreciate if you could see more sightseeing spots with me as your guide and enjoy your stay.

I love to answer your questions, even though I became nearly breathless when I was with American guests, a family of three, curiously asking me questions after questions:-)
I appreciated their interest in Japan very much.

I also go mountain trekking for twenty five years. I've been to the summit of Mt. Fuji and Mt. Kitadake three times. Talking about Mt. Takao, maybe more than fifty times.
I hope we can enjoy the beautiful view together.

I'm looking forward to seeing you soon and having a good time together.
Hope to hearing from you soon. read more

“ TOCHIGI ADVENTURE in NIKKO AND ASHIKAGA ”

Yoko is the kind of guide you want to be with. She is very organized from the very beginning. She will communicate with you from the time you book your tour up to the day of the tour and she would communicate with you after the tour. You will find a friend in her. She is very open minded and she will orient and educate you with Japanese culture. My family learned a lot from her. She would try to accommodate all of your request regarding your tour and she is honest enough to let you know if it doesn’t work. She will also give you options to accommodate everyone’s likes. She is very prompt. She Is willing to experience new things. She is fluent in English. Thank you Yoko! My family had a good time with you. It was a wonderful tour. You did an awesome job! Keep it up.

“ Highlight of our Tokyo Trip ”

My mom and I booked a tour with Yoko to see Cheurito Pagoda and the surrounding areas by the lake. She met us at the lobby of our hotel and guided us the entire way. She even brought origami paper and taught us to make cranes on the bus ride there. She thought of everything! It was stress free and she was lovely to spend the day with. Yoko suggested the combo tram and boat ride which were both amazing. She also picked an amazing place for lunch. By far the best day we had in Japan. I highly recommend her for the experience and the company!

“ Very Thorough and Caring Guide ”

From the very beginning after I booked Yoko, she began to email me ideas and itineraries to consider. She also mentioned she was doing dry runs through the areas we wanted to see so she could figure out timing for us. I was impressed at her dedication. Once we arrived in Tokyo, she had subway maps and restaurant pamphlets for us to keep us organized. She spent extra time with us to make sure we got around safely. She suggested places to visit that our sons would enjoy, and because of this we actually got one of our best photo opportunities of the trip when she took us to a cafe that printed our images on our lattes! She emailed pictures after the tour. She speaks great English and is easy to understand. You can tell she really cares for her job and her clients. My one piece of criticism would be that she seems unaccustomed to young children, so frequently seemed overwhelmed by our young boys and their hyper energy. She was strict about where we could use our stroller and where we couldn't, and that felt a bit harsh to us. If you are traveling without kids, DEFINITELY choose Yoko. She is great at her job. She even gave us suggestions for places to visit in the next city in Japan where we were headed.

“ Lovely day in Kamakura ”

Yoko was a very pleasant and helpful guide, who made the day very enjoyable. Navigating the metro, trains and busses is not very easy so it was great to have a good guide. Kamakura is well worth a visit with many temples & shrines it's busy but away from the hustle of Tokyo.
