After visiting the beautiful Japanese gardens and the historical remains of the Imperial Palace, we would visit Ueno Park.
Ueno has some historical buildings and wonderful museums such as Ueno Toshogu and Tokyo National Museum.
We would also visit Asakusa, where Nakamise shopping streets are extremely popular.
What to Expect
You can see one of the most beautiful Japanese gardens in Tokyo and have an overview of the capital Tokyo and about the Shoguns and the Imperial family.
We will visit many Instagram spots in the gardens, Tokyo Station and Ueno Park.
If you would like to visit the Tokyo National Museum or Ueno Zoo, I will guide you to the entrances and give an overview where to go to see the things of your interest.
I would go with you, but in the Museums, explaining in a loud voice might bother others, so I would tell you where you could rent audio guides if you'd like detailed explanation（500 yen).
Take your time strolling along the shopping street of Nakamise shopping street at Asakusa. If you still have enough energy, we can also go to Denpouin Street and Marugoto Nippon, which has items from all over Japan, or Kappabashi Kitchenware Street, where you can buy food sample keyholders or excellent knives with name's engraving service.
No Mondays and Fridays tour, because East Gardens will be closed on Mondays and Fridays and the Tokyo National Museum will be closed except National Holidays.
The East Gardens will be closed from December 30 till Jan. 3.
We are supposed to walk a lot, so PLEASE WEAR WALKING SHOES.
Highheels or sandals might give you a hard time. There is no cab services in the East Gardens or Ueno Park :-)
There is BAGGAGE INSPECTION at the entrances of East Gardens.
The places to visit in Ueno Park is up to you and your interest. I would appreciate if you would tell me what you are interested in: history, art or Zoo etc.
