“ Great first day in Tokyo! ”

We had a great introduction to Tokyo with Makiko! She recommended us to visit the following must see sights in Tokyo for our first day in the city including Tsukijii Market, Asakusa, Meiji jingu shrine and Harajuku. Tsukijii market was great and she made recommendations on which shops had good prices on Toro sushi and where to buy the best green tea. Our trip was mid March and we were hoping to see the beautiful cherry blossoms of Japan, but we were 1-2 weeks too early to see them in full bloom, but Makiko was committed to helping us find cherry blossoms. We were delighted that Makiko found a beautiful Cherry blossom tree for us to take a family picture with in Yoyogi park. In harajuku I wanted to see the cute kawaii fashion of the Harajuku girls and Makiko brought us to an undergroun... read more

Makiko:

Thank you very much for such a great review! So happy to hear you enjoyed my tour. We were lucky to see the beautiful cherry blossoms. The family picture under the tree was lovely! I had a lovely time with you. Hope to see you again! My warm regards to everyone in your family. Makiko

“ A wonderful six-hour glimpse of Tokyo ”

Makiko was a wonderful guide. She arrived early, sensing we might be early getting out of Haneda airport. She was right. Makiko was warm and very friendly, and full of ideas on places to visit, especially since we had limited time to see a slice of Tokyo. We visited some very interesting sites, and had a great, entertaining lunch at a sushi restaurant. Makiko made sure we returned to the airport at the planned time, and stayed with us all the way back to the departure security line. We wouldn't hesitate to hire her again. A five-star travel companion!

Makiko:

Thank you very much for a wondrful review! Glad to hear you enjoyed my tour. It was a pleasure to be your guide. We could visit quite many places for even a short time. I had a lovely time to spend with both of you. Such a nice couple! Hope we can meet again. Please visit again in different season, spring or autumn! My best regards to Nancy. Makiko

“ Best Guide in Tokyo! You must book Makiko! ”

Makiko is an excellent guide. She organized the day and ensured that we experienced the best of Tokyo. She is patient, kind and gracious. Also, her English is superb. She worked for the ******* of England and has an excellent English vocabulary. The true gem is her understanding of the city. I had the best sushi of my life with Makiko at a small authentic Sushi restaurant in Ginza. Finally, she is very genuine and authentic. I felt like I was with a long lost friend instead of a guide. My day with Makiko was the highlight of my trip to Tokyo! If you are looking for a marvelous guide who understands Japanese culture, knows the city and speaks excellent English, you must book with Makiko!

Makiko:

Thank you very much for such a wonderful review! You made me so happy! I was so happy to hear you enjoyed my tour. Such a lovely time to spend one day with you. So nice you felt being with a friend. Time went so fast. I really hope we can meet again. Please come back in different season, spring or autumn! See you soon! Makiko

“ Wonderful day with Makiko in Kamakura! ”

We had an absolutely wonderful day with Makiko in Kamukura on February 3 upon hiring her as a private guide for our group of 3. She met us at our hotel (and was there even a bit early) and deftly managed the metro and train systems to get us to Kamakura, then navigated our journey on foot to some of the most beautiful temples and shrines, giving us lots of history along the way. Makiko is friendly, personable and speaks impeccable English. In addition to being a great guide, we also enjoyed simply spending time with Makiko and getting to know more about her and about Tokyo and Kamakura. I highly recommend Makiko as a guide and if we were staying longer I would hire her for additional tours!

Makiko:

Thank you so much for a great review! I am very happy to hear you enjoyed my tour to Kamakura. It was a pleasure to be your guide. I had a wonderful time with all of you, such an enjoyable conversation! I hope you come back and meet again. Have a lovely time for the rest of your stay in Tokyo. My warm regards to Dana and Lisa.
