Overview

This tour covers popular sightseeing spots; Hamarikyu garden, Sumida river cruise, Asakusa, Meiji-jingu shrine and Shibuya. Through this tour, you can see old and modern Tokyo, and traditional culture especially at Sensoji temple and Meiji-jingu.
It is possible to modify the itinerary according to customer' interests.

What to Expect

We start a tour at 9AM. (recommended)

(1) Hamarikyu garden
It is a large Japanese garden located by the Tokyo Bay. Walking slowly in the quiet and beautiful garden while seeing flowers and plants is very refreshing. After strolling, it is a good idea to rest at the tea house that offers green tea and sweets in a tea-ceremony style.

(2) Sumida river cruise
From Hamarikyu garden to Asakusa, we cruise along the Sumida river.
You can relax and enjoy beautiful scenery including 12 bridges, the Tokyo Sky-Tree, water front buildings, and traditional neighborhoods of old Tokyo.

(3) Asakusa
A landmark of Asakusa is “Kaminari-mon Gate” of the Sensoji temple which is the largest Buddhist temple in Tokyo. At the temple, we will pray for something at the beautiful main hall. Nakamise shopping street is an ideal place to see local snacks and souvenirs. There are many restaurants including Japanese food and western food. We will have lunch there.

(4) Meiji-jingu
It is the largest Shinto shrine in Tokyo. In 1920, it was founded to commemorate Emperor Meiji who took a lead in making Japan a modern and industrialized country. The shrine building was constructed in the traditional style. Many old trees in the forest add the sacred atmosphere. Young couples like to hold wedding ceremonies here.

(5) Shibuya
The final destination is Shibuya which is famous for a busy scramble crossing and a dog stature called Hachiko.

At the end of the tour, I will show you how to go back to your hotel or how to get to your next destination.

“ Well organised and excellent tour of Tokyo! ”

If you are lucky enough to find Eddy available, then please do not hesitate to book him for his tour guide services. Eddy is a very kindly gentleman, with excellent communication skills, and clearly takes pride in giving his clients the best service. Before the tour he answered our questions brilliantly and helped with other non tour related questions we had. During our tour of Tokyo Eddy was keen that we learnt some useful Japanese words, a little of the history of the sights, and entertained us with some Origami during lunch! Excellent tour guide . Thanks again Eddy!

“ Cherry Blossom Tour ”

Eddy was an excellent guide who went to a lot of detail in his planning and preparation of our tour. He was punctual. He was considerate in giving us several periods to take a break, as there was a lot of walking involved. He gave us much information on the history and local customs, language, foods, and even gave us a lesson in Origami folding. He showed us the best places to view and photograph the Cherry Blossoms. His English was very good. He communicated very well with us from the time of booking to the date of the tour. We would highly recommend Eddy as a tour guide to any other tourists considering Tokyo day tours.

“ What a fantastic day! ”

We took a Hakone tour with Eddy and it was better than excellent. What a lovely and knowledgeable person. The tour was exactly what we wanted to do, he was extremely helpful and even had little things for us to do during lunch and downtimes (language lessons and games, origami). We would never of found our way through all of the experiences without a guide. I highly recommend a tour and you have to book Eddy!

“ Wonderful tour guide ”

Eddy was such a friendly, pleasant person. We had a great tour based on everything he suggested for us. His English is excellent, he included a lot of interesting history of Japan, he used his iPad to show us pictures from the past. We had a very fun Sushi lesson, the fish market was great, he picked some spots for us to try delicacy dishes. He was sweet and at end of tour helped me to get reserved seats at the train station for the travel for rest of my trip, telling me which side of train to sit on to see Mt Fuji. He was WONDERFULLY and I highly recommend him.

“ Our Day with Eddy ”

Eddy is a polite gentleman and a thorough and thoughtful guide. More restrained than dynamic, he planned our one day visit with care, adapting to our interests. He gave us a great mini lesson on Japanese language and characters, an overview of Japanese food and even taught us some origami. Arigato Eddy!
