Nikko is located about 125 kilometers north of Tokyo and makes a good one-day trip from Tokyo.
It will take about two hours from Tokyo with a limited express. It is a home to world heritage sites including Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Shrine, and Rinnoji Temple.
We will visit Nikko by public transportation and walk around the sacred area surrounded by beautiful nature.

What to Expect

Nikko had been a center of Shinto and Buddhist mountain worship for many centuries before Toshogu was built in the 1600s. So, we will visit not only temples but also shrines and will experience Nikko’s natural beauty. The main highlight of the tour is the Toshogu Shrine which is dedicated to the deified spirit of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of Tokugawa Shogunate. The shrine has a lot of traditional structures featuring lavish and exquisite carvings in colors. We will see some famous animal decorative ornaments such as Three Wise Monkeys and The Sleeping Cat or “Nemuri Neko”.

“ Nagano Tailored Tour ”

Takeshi was an excellent tour guide and gave great suggestions for my family. We took his suggestion to try open-fires oyaki and sake tasting. He was kind and flexible and provided great insight to Japan’s history and culture. We would not been able to cover so many places, and have an awesome day without his help.

Thank you for your good review. I am glad I could show you the snowy path to the park. Takeshi
