Frequently Asked Questions

Can we discuss where to go in advance?

Sure! Please feel free to send me a message and I will suggest ideas depending on your interests.

What can we expect besides cultural heritages in Nikko?

There are beautiful architectures such as Tamozawa Imperial Villa and Nikko Kanaya Hotel. Kanmangafuchi abyss, with a line of jizo statues is also getting attention these days. If you like cultural things, experiences such as kimono wearing, wood carving and hot spring are available (better to check the vacancy in advance, please ask for details).

What do we have for lunch?

I will take you to the place of your choice. For example, Nikko is famous for "yuba" (soy milk skin) and "soba" (buckwheat noodle), and they are worth trying. If you prefer Western meals, there are also nice steak houses and bakeries.

Does this tour cover Oku-Nikko area (around Lake Chuzenji)?

No. It takes at least 40min from Nikko to Oku-Nikko. There's lots to see and do only in Nikko area and most of my guests feel they would need more time. If you would like to go to Oku-Nikko, I would suggest 2 day tour. For details, please ask.

“ When I told her I want to go to the school I attended as a child, she located it and initiated a call to them and then forward to me the web address. ”

It was a wonderful day. It began at the school I attended in K-2 grades and the the Dean of Admissions gave us an hour long tour and showed me the building where I would have had classes. It was rich. Then we visited a park near by that she thought was lovely and I probably went to as a child. On the way I spotted a pastry shop so we digressed for a treat and coffee. And walked thru the neighborhood of Hiro-o. Then we went to the Japanese Traditional Crafts Aoyama Square that I said I want to see as I love to see pottery and crafts of a country. Had a wonderful lunch along the way and then went to the gardens of the Imperial Palace and concluded with going to a big toy story for gifts for grandchildren. It was a fun, delightful day with Kazue who had a good listening hear and suggestions for what interests me.

Kazue:
Thank you for the review, Terry! It was great that you could visit the school you attended. Hope your grandchildren like what you got in Tokyo. Please send my best regards to your friend too :)

“ Our customised tour in Tokyo with Kazue! ”

We had the most amazing day with Kazue during our tour in Tokyo! She is very friendly, polite and we really enjoyed our day with her visiting Tokyo! We contacted Kazue on her availability before arriving in Japan and she was very prompt to respond with ideas on how to customise our tour. After a few emails our plan was set and ready for our one-day (8hrs) tour of Tokyo. She introduced us to must-see areas, shrines/temples and food of Tokyo. The fact that she speaks perfect English, made our life so much easier when we needed a translator into Japanese. She made the first day of our honeymoon very special!

Kazue:
Thank you so much for the wonderful review, Panos! I was honored to be the guide for the first day of your honeymoon. It was great that you let me know what you would expect on this tour in advance, which helped me a lot to understand your needs and suggest the itinerary. For me as well, it was an unforgettable, special tour. I'm happy to meet both of you and hope we can see each other again. Wishing you both a happily ever after!

“ Day trip to Kamakura ”

Kazue was so gracious and kind. We took a day trip together from Shinjuku to Kamakura. Communication prior was great. We connected on a messaging app which made discussing the trip and our meeting place much easier. She kindly met me at the train station closest to me, and she guided me through the temples and shrines of Kamakura. We shared great conversation together. She was very attentive to my needs on the tour, and she wanted to make sure that I was seeing all the historical landmarks I wanted to see in the area. She took me to a great local restaurant for lunch, and we tried different local foods over the course of the tour. Kazue was so great, and you could not go wrong with her as your guide. Thanks Kazue for helping make my trip to Japan so great!

Kazue:
Thank you very much for your wonderful review, Terrell! So many memories just in one day... lovely sceneries from the Enoshima Island, beautiful architectures and gardens, foods like manju, shrimp and octopus cracker & soba noodles... As your omikuji was "daikichi (best luck - it's truly rare!)", I wish you all the success, happiness, and joy in life!!

“ Great guide with pleasant nature ”

Kazue was very sweet and pleasant. She helped us cover a lot of the city in a day. Her English was very good so she was able to communicate with us easily. She also helped us make reservations for a restaurant and was very flexible with helping us plan the itinerary. We would definitely recommend her.

Kazue:
Thank you so much for kind words, Jasmine. It was great to meeting both of you! I hope you fully enjoyed your vacation in Japan. You must be busy after you get back home... please take care!

“ Flexible and knowledgeable ”

A last minute change of plans was no problem for Kazue, she was more than willing to help change the itinerary at the last minute. Was also able to help with a very specific lunch recommendation (Ramen, thank you!) and had reserved a spot at the Monster Cafe which meant avoiding long queues! Knew good info about the tourist spots on the agenda and English was perfect. Recommended!

Kazue:
Thank you so much for the review, Richard! It was really good that you could see sakura blossoms at Shinjuku Gyoen. ... and kawaii costumed girls and boy at the Monster Cafe ;) I'd love to see the pictures you took in Tokyo sometime - must be awesome!! Please send my best regards to your friend too.
