We wanted to see as much as possible in one day and Mana delivered! We covered tons of ground and she navigated by foot, bus, taxi and train like a true professional. She was generous with her time and knowledge. It was well worth the price.
Because of Mana's knowledge of the city, we were able to navigate many roads and covered many sights. I think she planned the tour well and managed it efficiently. Without her guidance, we would most certainly have lost our way. Even though it went beyond our schedule, she added a visit to the textile centre where we saw a fashion show of kimonos and obi.
Dear Gloria. I appreciate your feedback.I was surprised that you were so strong and healthy, as you walked fast and for a long period of time. I could add one more place to your itinerary.I was happy to find a nice restaurant at Gion. Please stay as happy, healthy and fit as you are. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Mana filled in at the last minute for our original guide and provided a great experience in Kyoto. She was extremely patient with us and managed to find the perfect balance of moving things along, while also allowing my family enough time to browse the sites and shops without feeling rushed. Mana knew the city very well and really provided the perfect introduction to Kyoto that we were looking for. I would recommend Mana to anyone visiting Kyoto!
Dear Pam.I was relieved to get your good review as I was a substitute guide. My plans usually include a visit to one or two more places but we were so busy. Your plan had enough time to explore the Kiyomizu, Yasaka and Gion ditrict fully. I was able to enjoy the tour without caring about the time. I’m thankful that I got to have the opportunity of meeting lovely and courteous your family.
Our group of 7 people from NZ, Australia, China, and the Philippines had an excellent day with Mana. We had communicated itinerary ideas ahead of time by email, sorted our meeting arrangements, and were duly met on time in our hotel lobby. After introductions, we then set off on our journey for the day using an easy mixture of walking, buses, subway, and taxis. The sightseeing aspect was great, went off without a hitch, at a good pace, and with knowledgeable insights as we went. Mana's English is good, so none of us had any trouble understanding her. She was also friendly and flexible with arrangements on the fly if we needed. Our group were delighted with our day. Thanks Mana, most appreciated! Our day with Mana was full of many highlights as she expertly navigated us through a series of trains, buses and taxis to arrive at Kinkaku-ji, the bamboo forest, and the textile center, among other sights. Along the way she took time to explain some cultural history and background and to give us some simple lessons on Japanese characters and writing, which we greatly appreciated. We also went through some interesting shopping areas and took time to stop and buy some lovely items such as small wooden earrings and silk Christmas ornaments. Our sushi and tempura lunch ( she gave us a choice of steak or sushi restaurants) was delicious. We also saw a kimono fashion show, observed silk kimonos being designed and woven, and ended the day with tea and a demonstration of making beautifully arti... read more
Dear Judith and Lori I appreciate your kind review for my tour. Japanese people often say when they get good weather that it's they have been behaving well everyday. It must be true because the weather was good ! I'll keep your present and see it every day. Japan has 34 national parks. I hope that you will visit Kyoto and I can see you again. Thank you
