“ Sumo, Temples, Shrines and Geiko in Tokyo ”

Our family of 6 had an excellent and enriching tour with Kashima-san. One of the main reasons we wanted a guide in Tokyo was to help with arranging a tour of a sumo stable in Tokyo, many of which are weary of visitors. Despite this, Kashima-san managed to book a tour of the Hakkaku sumo stable. Ahead of the visit, Kashima-san sent us a summary of sumo wrestling and what we might expect to see in the training. And during the training, he explained the complex rituals and ranking of the sumo wrestlers. This made the sumo training a very interesting experience. After the tour of the stables, Kashima-san took us to the sumo museum which was also vey interesting and gave us some historical context to sumo. Overall, by the end of sumo tour we had a much deeper understanding and appreciation of s... read more

I am very much impressed that you, your wife and your four children all enjoyed and excited to see Japanese tradition and ritual Marshal art sport of Sumo. We could watch actual severe Sumo training for around 2 hours and a half by all sumo wrestlers in Hakkaku stable. I think all of you understood how sumo wrestlers are strong, tough with patient and courteous. Also, there are extremely bendy. I think that you all will improve the way of watching sumo by this experience. Also, I am pleased that you all are so interested in Japanese culture, history and religion of Shinto and Buddhism. “ Kyoto tour ”

Well planned and enthusiastic. Created an itinerary to meet with our desired interests. Knowledgeable and experienced.

KASHIMA:

Mark san, Thank you very much for your great comments for me. I am pleased that you and your group enjoyed a lot of Kyoto one day tour. Bsed on your preference, we made an itinerary to avoid very touristy places such as Kinkakuji/Golden Pavillion and selected less touristy places such as Arashiyama, Tenryuji temple, Bamboo forest, Ryoanji trmple, Shinsenen garden ang Gion. Thanks to strong curiosity of your group about not only Japanese historey and culture but also Japanese everyday affairs, we could make precious information excahnge a lot. I am looking forward to have another chance to guide you when you come to Japan again in future. Thanks, Kashima
