I would like to introduce to you the northern area of Osaka, including the Umeda Sky Building, Osaka Station City and Grand Front Osaka.
The Umeda Sky Building with a height of 174 meters is the landmark of Umeda. The floating garden observatory on the roof allows you to see a 360 degree view of Osaka City. In 2013, around 250,000 foreign tourists visited the building because it was selected as one of "the top 20 buildings representing the world" in the London TIMES in 2008. Two forty-story buildings are connected at the top level.
Osaka is popularly known as a city of merchants and is largely divided into two commercial hotspots. One hotspot is Kita (North) town which is centered around JR Osaka Station. Recently five major department stores have entered a period of hard competition. The Osaka Station City has in it the JR Osaka Station and also department stores such as Mitsukoshi Isetan, Daimaru, and LUCUA.
Grand Front Osaka is a large complex facility with 4 buildings that opened on Apr. 26th 2013. It's very easy for people to visit Grand Front Osaka because it's directly connected to the Osaka Station City building on the second floor. You can eat Kindai tuna there, the tuna that Kinki University successfully "farmed" for the first time in the world.
Around Osaka Station City, there are two local department stores. One is the Hankyu Department Store with many specialty shops and the other is the Hanshin Department Store which is populary known for its "depa-chika" or the basement food floors. They have delicous foods of all kinds down there.

He was not only knowledgeable but so friendly and courteous. English was good, had no trouble communicating. Not only did we see main sights in Kyoto and Hiroshima but he pointed out subtleties that many would have missed. On top of it all he is also a really nice man. I recommend him highly!
Hideo gave us a great tour of Hiroshima & Miyajima. He met us at our hotel and from the very beginning was so friendly and knowledgeable. He provided so much in depth information about the sites and took us to a wonderful local restaurant for lunch. He helped us with our JR train tickets and at the end of our tour, he assisted us with getting onto the train in Hiroshima and changing platforms at Osaka for our journey to Kyoto, even though he was leaving the train at Osaka. Hideo is a real gentleman and we would highly recommend him. Thank you Hideo!
Hideo was very organized and insightful. He had an itinerary laid out for us and made all our traveling easy. He was knowledgeable about all the places we went and a very nice person. When we come back to Japan, we will tour with Hideo again! Thanks Hideo!!!
This is the first time we are visiting Japan on holidays and we have decided to use TripleLights, also for the first time, for the above itineraries. Having chosen Hideo who have done amazingly well to guide our trips, we are satisfied with his recommendations although the rains in Kyoto somehow dampen things a bit. TQ Hideo.
We have our tour with Mr Hideo, he is so helpful and flexible to cater for our request, he took extra mile to arrange for our train tickets and patience with answering our questions. We will surely hire him again on our next visit. P.s. Mr Hideo wish you good health and happy new year
Kyoto was the ancient capital of Japan from 794 over one thousand years.
