“ The best decision we made for our first trip to Japan! ”
My girlfriend and I did a 6 hour tour with Seiko in Kyoto. It was, without exaggeration, the best decision we made by far. She is incredibly knowledgeable and professional, and her English is near native speaker level. But what really impressed us was her ability to connect with us and the positive energy she brought to the time we spent together. By the second hour, it felt more like a good friend was showing us around her home town than a paid guide doing her job. We talked about all kinds of things, beyond just the factoids expected from a tour. I think we had the most fun chatting about her experiences living in the US, and the cultural idiosyncrasies of Japanese people. And when we said goodbye, we felt sad that she couldn’t come with us to Tokyo. After she got to know us, she also gave us restaurant recommendations for Osaka that she thought we would enjoy, and she was on point! I would highly, highly recommend anyone visiting either Osaka or Kyoto to hire Seiko for a day. You THINK you can just follow recommendations on TripAdvisor and follow google map here and there, but trust me - having a great guide like Seiko makes your experience 10 times more amazing and efficient. You will not regret it!
Thank you so much for your detailed and super special review! It touched my heart... It's actually amazing to know I felt exactly the same way - I was just having a great time with my friends and really sad to say good-bye at the end! I understand our biggest rivals are Google Maps, Google Translator, and TripAdvisor, and it's always challenging to go beyond them. But I always try to know about my clients as we plan/do a tour together, and would like to enjoy the day not just as a guide but also as a local friend who wants to be part of your great memories in Japan (that cannot be given by Mr. Google or Ms.TA:-)
Hope you also had a great time in Tokyo and see you again in Japan! Seiko
