“ Beautiful introduction to Japanese history and culture ”

Richard's passion for Japan really shines through - you can feel his deep respect for the country and his insight into Japanese history and culture. Our tour took us to truly off-the-beaten paths that even some native Japanese miss out on. Our tour was a very long day (be prepared to walk and travel) but definitely well worth it. And the sake tasting definitely helped. I wholeheartedly recommend Richard for his expertise, friendliness and passion. You won't find a stronger advocate for Japan!

Richard:

Thank you guys fr coming along on such a long day but to be able to see the oldest Shrine in Japan and the place where the first Emperor walked, is like you said, something most Japanese do not do. Hope you liked the Lunch also! Oh, and Sake ALWAYS helps! Thank you again and I hope to see you again. If you could take the time to write on my TripAdvisor page and let them know you found me on TripleLights, I would deeply appreciate it. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g298566-d13416350-Reviews-Spirits_of_Japan-Osaka_Osaka_Prefecture_Kinki.html

“ Best of Osaka and Kyoto ”

Booked a tour with Richard for our family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. He was great right off the bat engaging them and getting to know our family. We had limited time and I worked With him in advance to schedule and cram in as much history/fun/ food/culture/sake as possible. It was PERFECT!!! He really knows his stuff - from the best places to eat and drink to side streets to avoid crowds and hustle aroun the trains/subways. He really helped us to make the most of the time we had here! Just wish we had more time for him to show us more cool things! Richard was great with story telling the history in a way which engaged the boys and wasn’t boring but instead exciting and cool! Richard was great and I would Highlyyyyy recommend!! He was a highlight of our trip!

Richard:

Well you know, I am still a teenager at heart! Thank you so much for your kind words and I am glad we could get most of everything in you wanted to see! Please come again and send your friends!!!! Kind regards, Richard.

“ Unforgetible experience ”

We spent 4 amazing dates with Richard last month and he took us to some out-of-the-way places and had auténtic food we did not expect to have. He took us way out in the country and we discovered the oldest Shrine in all of Japan, ate Swimming Somen noodles (which we would love to bring back to New York) and just had an amazing time listening to his stories and his understanding of Japanese History, Shinto and Buddhism. We will return back hopefully next year

“ How much fun can you pack in a day? ”

Richard met us at our hotel and proceeded to fill our day with fascinating stories, fabulous experiences and boundless friendship. He's knowledgeable and also well known so as you travel, you get a plethora of history, culture and good fun. He also knows the folks he speaks of and to, so there is an intimacy to the day you couldn't get on your own. Don't miss the Samurai house. What a remarkable treat.

Richard:

Yay! I am so happy you had a good time! No mention of the delicious sake we had? LOL Thank you sooo much and please do come again! I wish you much good fortune for the both of you and please tell Hart it was fun talking to him. What a nice son you have! Take care.
