Kurashiki has many faces. One of them is Kurashiki Bikan historical area. In Edo Period Kurashiki was directly governed by Tokugawa Shogunate and it was prosperous as a town of merchants. We can see the houses and warehouses in those days along the stream called Kurashiki River. We can watch and buy Japanese folkcraft in the shops and museums. You can eat lunch in Ivy Square ,which was a spinning factory in Meiji Period. Kojima is in the south of Kurashiki.
