Overview

Let's enjoy the World Heritage Shrine and Temples and the great nature of forests, lakes and waterfalls in Nikko. Nikko, a pilgrim town, is located 128 km north of Tokyo where the first Shogun of Edo, Tokugawa Ieyasu, is enshrined.

What to Expect

First, you will be picked up at your hotel in Tokyo around 8:00. We will head off to Shinjuku or Asakusa Station to take train for Nikko. (Shinkansen is also available up to Utsunomiya)

In the morning, you will visit Toshogu Shrine and Temples where you can see gorgeous engravings like The Three Wise Monkyes (See no evil, Hear no evil, Speak no evil). Then you can stroll to Tamozawa
Imperial Villa where you can appreciate beautiful screen paintings and a garden.

You will take bus to the Lake Chuzenjiko and take local lunch seeing Mt. Nantai. After lunch, you will be guided to Kegon Waterfall. Water comes from Chuzenjiko and the spectacle is beyond description. Then we will come back to Tokyo.
Return: Tobu-Nikko Departure 16:39 and Arrival Shinjuku at 18:36.

“ Great Use of Short Time! ”

Steve is a very kind and knowledgable guide. He speaks English very well which made it easy for us. We needed to rush a little because the train/subway system confused even him at times but we made all of the connections we needed to. He always chose the most economical mode of transport first and we upgraded when we felt like it made sense for us. We were both happy we chose a guided tour over doing it ourselves for the time we had

Steve:

Thanks for your comments, however I had many points I had to refrect myself especially at ShinJuku Station. I will restudy it and pay more attention in advance. Wishing you will return to your contry with good memory. Bests, Steve
