My husband and I spent two days with Michiko and had a wonderful time. Always so cheerful and full of energy, she took care of us in every way. Her knowledge of the Japanese culture made these tours the more interesting, as was her choice of lunch menu. Thank you Michiko, till we meet again.
It was nice talking with you. The Kamakura shogunate was the country's first "samurai" government established in the end of the 12th century. The town is surrounded by mountains and facing the Sagami-bay on the south. That's why the place is called "a natural fortress". I think Zen temples including Kenchoji which is well-known for its quiet simplicity and fortitude must have supported "samurai" who need extraordinary powers of concentration and decisiveness. I hope you have a good time in Japan!
Michiko arrived ontime waiting for us at our hotel's lobby. It started out a light rainy day. This was the first day we were in Tokyo and Japan country. It's so different with how we live our lives in USA. So many people, so many trains and so many subways and buses. It's overwhelming, even I have been researching before my trip. Michiko gave us a good teaching how to use the train/subway system and the tickets, etc...winch we needed to purchase ticket for bullet train to Shin-Osaka on Nov-28th depart Tokyo to Osaka. By next day (yesterday), we were able to follow directions and catch our subways to couple places. Because we were not used to how Japanese live their lives, we were somewhat a little annoyed by various "rules", such as not supposed to eat and walk. Then when we walk in t... read more
Thank you for your review. "There is nothing impossible to him who will try." -Alexander the Great "Experience is the teacher of all things." -Julius Caeser Let's enjoy our lives!
Lovely day with sculptures, prints, gardens and a private music show! Thanks for the memories!
Thank you for your review. I just enjoyed the tour with you. I think you have a special talent on art. I was surprised when you told the meaning of the Japanese dance. It was nice talking with you.
We really enjoy our time with Michiko that has patient with all of us 5 people ... Thank you so much Michiko .. especially our time at kawaguchi go and Nikko ... have a nice travelling Ms Michiko
Thank you for joining my tour. I'm happy to hear that you've enjoyed the tour. I think I've done my utmost to help you experience the best of Japan such as visiting a beautiful and quiet garden and having "Kaiseki" dishes at a small Japanese restaurant in addition to viewing Mt. Fuji covered with snow. Give my regards to your friends.
Michiko-san epitomized professionalism by pre-planning our individual tour based on what we'd like to see in the Tokyo area. The pre-planning included her going through prior dry-runs of routes to ensure that we'd be able to accomplish what we prioritized on our wish list and within the allotted time. If we chose to linger more at one location, Michiko-san was flexible and adjusted our itinerary. Without her, we couldn't have seen half the sites if we had tried on our own to find and navigate to these places through Tokyo's extensive rail and subway system. Additionally, she provided some written brief background & context on our tour stops prior to the actual meeting - which was quite thoughtful. We were very pleased with Michiko-san!
Thank you for your review. I found a good dish called "sweet potato rice" at a small restaurant in Kawagoe on the day before the tour date. Sweet potato is a specialty of Kawagoe and I thought it was good for your stomach. Let's try it next time! And now I'm on the way to Lake Kawaguchiko to do the final route check for the tour expected next week. It's a beautiful day to enjoy the views of Mt. Fuji. Michiko
