Overview

Nara was the first capital.
We go to Horyuji Temple, Japan's first world heritage site.
You can see the oldest wooden temple in the world.
Then we go to Nara Park.
Todaiji Temple constructed in 752.
It is also a world heritage site.
You walk emperor's road in Nara Park.
At the end we go to Gangoji Temple, a world heritage site.
Ancient emperor's road extends in front of you.

What to Expect

600 years later, in 790, a young man stepped into the land of the capital.
His name was Kukai, a very talented man.
His uncle, impressed by his brilliance, encouraged him to study at the capital.
He later became the greatest priest Japan has produced.
To the young man who just came from a small local town, the capital must have been a dream-like city.
He studied at Todaiji Temple and Gangoji Temple.
In those days temples in Nara were a kind of national university.
The young monks who completed university education were dispatched to local towns as a priest or official.
Ancient Nara was a big educational town as well as a political center.
1200 years has passed since then.
Now in this city, unlike Tokyo or Osaka, there is nothing new and exciting.
No skyscrapers, amusement parks, or entertainment facilities that attract young people.
But here in Nara, you will find an ancient atmosphere that you cannot feel anywhere in other places.

“ Excellent Guide, New Friend ”

My family spent months planning to squeeze Kyoto, Nara and Osaka it to 2 days, with Misaki’s help we made that happen. He was kind, informative, organized and a pleasure to talk and walk with. I’d love to spend a month with him and his depth of knowledge. He was excellent at making things fun. He kept my children (11-20yrs) involved and engaged.

Masaki was so knowledgeable about the Osaka area (we had a fantastic day in and around Nara). We wanted to do some things off the beaten path and he was able to deliver a memorable experience. Very flexible when we wanted to change the plan. Thorough knowledge of English and a a great communicator. We recommend without hesitation.

“ Excellent knowledge about Kyoto history and a perfect explainer ”

We had the most wonderful day in Kyoto with Masaki. He was extremely prompt and efficient in his response upon initial contact. I let him know what my husband and I wanted to see, and within hours, I had a spreadsheet detailing every step of our trip, including how we would be traveling, duration for each part (whether it be walking, taxi, along with any expenses we may incur. It was an extremely well-thought out itinerary and route. Masaki came to the train promptly at 10 AM and was with us every step of the way. At each place we visited, he provided insight that we necessarily would not get from a board or audio guide and even had a full dossier of facts and illustrations that were relevant to places we visited. He even threw in a few smaller sites that he really was enthusiastic about showing us and was very forthcoming about taking our picture wherever we were. We even changed our itinerary a little towards the end and he was extremely accommodating. Masaki is so pleasant and kept us smiling all day. Could not recommend him enough. Thank you so much! out to be very rewarding. On top of the very informative tour, Masaki provided all the information required to easily travel to the meet up point. Taking time at the end of the day to ensure we were catching the correct train home. The pictures are also a nice souvenir. Thanks for a great time Masaki. Hope to see you again when we return to Japan!l „Breath in breath out“ now is a common phrase and we hope it will last for a long time as a souvenir from Masaki and Kyoto
