Mt.Yoshino is one of the most popular cherry blossom viewing spots and furthermore one of the most popular changing colors of autumn leaves viewing spots in Japan. Mt.Yoshino boasts 100,000 cherry trees planted in four groves at different altitudes. Each level blooms in succession. Generally you enjoy cherry blossom viiewing only for about a week but in Mt.Yoshino you can enjoy it for nearly one month.
After we arrived at Yoshino Station on Kintetsu line, we take the ropeway, the oldest ropeway in existence in Japan, and visit Kinpusenji Temple. Zaodo, the main hall of the temple, is a magnificent two-story structure thatched with silver cedar bark. It has 34 meters high, 27 meters wide and 26 meters long. The main hall is concecrated by three great images Kongo Zao Gongen, which is said to be equal to the Great image of Buddha of Todaiji Temple in size.
You can have special tofu or bean curd, food, Japanese-style food such as udon, soba and donburi, or a bowl of rice topped with beef, pork and the like for lunch.
From Yoshimizu Shrine, you can enjoy many cherry blossoms called "Hitomesenbon." Have you ever heard of Hitomesenbon ?
Chikurin-in has a stroll garden designed by the tea master Sen-no-Rikyu. You can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and changing colors of autumn leaves in fall.
Furthermore an hour's trek take you to Yoshino Mikumari Shrine. The shrine is a popular spot for couples who come to pray for fertility.
I would recommend you join the tour of Mt.Yoshino especially in spring and autumn.

We had a wonderful tour in Kyoto and Kobe with Hideo. He brought us to the temples and historical places. My family learned so much from him. Hideo is very energetic and patient. I will definitely recommend Hideo to my friends.
We found Hideo-san as a very organised, patient and wonderful human being. We're travelling with an infant and a 3yr old and to have someone like Hideo as tour guide helps you have a peace of mind during the entire trip. From the time we booked him through TripleLights, he was constantly in touch in finalising the trip itinerary and assisting with our tour requirements. He organised a private car for our day-trip in Hiroshima and Miyajima. Reasonable price and a big car! He got in touch a week before and assisted with JR train details (for our travel from Kyoto to Hiroshima to Kyoto) for our seat reservations. He didnt have to but it was very helpful. Picked us at the Hiroshima station and had a clear itinerary of our day-trip. Never rushing and was very soft spoken (even as we're behind the schedule at times!). Took a lot of photos for us with a sincere smile. Very knowledgable guide, he is, who seems to do a lot of preparatory work about the places of interest and for the needs of his clients. Took us to a fine dining family restaurant in Hiroshima that had a great ambience and food. On our return to Hiroshima train station in car, he took efforts to find places for Kimono rentals in his mobile phone and plotted everything in a local map (Kyoto) to make things easier for us. Delighting customer service! He considerateness and care didn't stop there - he got down at Shin-Kobe station to assist us with transfer of train to Kyoto (even though he could have travelled straight to Osaka). It was a heartening surprise for us! Our day trip to Hiroshima was more than a experience to the places of interest because of our time with Hideo-San. We will highly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a great guide!
He did a great job of getting us around quickly via the trains to our sights we wanted to see. He was very quiet but very efficient. There was a lot of walking, but we did ok. He took us to an extra site we didn't even know about , the bulletin train museum. It was great. !!!
We engaged Hideo to travel with us for 9 days to Hiroshima, Matsue, Nagano, Matsumoto, Takayama, Kanazawa and Toyama and nearby, satellite areas. Hideo's preplanning and travel scheduling was highly professional. He was attentive and accommodating to all our requests, making the experiences special. His knowledge of all things Japan was excellent, answering all our questions thoughtfully. We left the whole itinerary planning to Hideo and we were most happy with the total outcome. One of the highlights of the trip was a visit to the mountains along the snow covered Alpine Way at the end of our visit. Many thanks Hideo and best wishes Peter & Ann Jarman
We had Hideo as our guide on 11 April 2017 for our trip to Yoshino. He was punctual to pick us up from our hotel, organized - presented us with the itinerary and informative. Yoshino - nice place for cherry blossom viewing and walking. You get to see nice views as well as street food and souvenirs. Hideo is very helpful, he brought us to buy our Shinkansen ticket from Kyoto to Tokyo. Without his help, we might take a long to time to figure out where to buy the tickets. He also brought us to eat Okonomiyaki, showed us around Dotonbori and brought us to the shops we wanted to shop. Thank you, Hideo! We enjoyed ourselves very much.
