Mt.Yoshino is one of the most popular cherry blossom viewing spots and furthermore one of the most popular changing colors of autumn leaves viewing spots in Japan. Mt.Yoshino boasts 100,000 cherry trees planted in four groves at different altitudes. Each level blooms in succession. Generally you enjoy cherry blossom viiewing only for about a week but in Mt.Yoshino you can enjoy it for nearly one month.
After we arrived at Yoshino Station on Kintetsu line, we take the ropeway, the oldest ropeway in existence in Japan, and visit Kinpusenji Temple. Zaodo, the main hall of the temple, is a magnificent two-story structure thatched with silver cedar bark. It has 34 meters high, 27 meters wide and 26 meters long. The main hall is concecrated by three great images Kongo Zao Gongen, which is said to be equal to the Great image of Buddha of Todaiji Temple in size.
You can have special tofu or bean curd, food, Japanese-style food such as udon, soba and donburi, or a bowl of rice topped with beef, pork and the like for lunch.
From Yoshimizu Shrine, you can enjoy many cherry blossoms called "Hitomesenbon." Have you ever heard of Hitomesenbon ?
Chikurin-in has a stroll garden designed by the tea master Sen-no-Rikyu. You can enjoy beautiful cherry blossoms in spring and changing colors of autumn leaves in fall.
Furthermore an hour's trek take you to Yoshino Mikumari Shrine. The shrine is a popular spot for couples who come to pray for fertility.
I would recommend you join the tour of Mt.Yoshino especially in spring and autumn.

Hideo is a great guide. His English is good and he knows the site and sites well. He also moves quickly so you get to see a lot. Using trains and buses you also get a feel for the city. We walked about 10 mines during the day but with the stops etc. it did not feel difficult. I was very pleased with Hideo.
We love Mr Hideo so much. We are family of 12 and he was able to managed us very well with his prepared tour itinerary. He picked us up from our apartment and guide us all the way through the scenic spots using local trains. Highly recommended! Thank you so much Mr Hideo :)
We had two separate tours with Hideo. One for a full day to Osaka and another to Hiroshima. Hideo is very thorough in his planning and well-organized. He plans everything in detail but at the same time is very flexible according to our interests. He gave us good advice and ideas while proposing the itinerary. He is punctual and knows the cities well. He is also humble and patient and very hardworking. Thank you Hideo for bringing us around!
Hideo is a pleasant man, very knowledgeable as you would expect of a private tour guide, and ultimately made our Kyoto stay every memorable. We had a great time visiting the must see places as we only spent 3 days 2 nights there, so we decided to make the most of the with Hideo. We'll be back to Japan again and we'll be sure to book with Hideo once more!
We spent 5 enjoyable days with Hideo in Osaka and Kyoto. He was well organised, puntual, patient and flexible with our plans. He was particularly kind to assist us in any way we required, and was a pleasure to get to know during our stay in these two cities. A big thank you, again!
