Meet at Nagano station. Travel by bus for an hour to the entrance of Togakushi Okusha Shrine and walk about 40 minutes to the Okusha. After visiting Okusha Shrine we will visit the Togakushi Ninja Museum where we can see ninja tools on display. At Chusha Shrine we will have lunch at a soba noodle restaurant. From Togakushi, we will move to Zenkoji temple by bus (or taxi).
Feel free to personalize this offer with Takeshi.
The land of Togakushi is related to Ama no iwato (Cave of heaven) in "Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters)" in Japanese mythology. Along the way to Okusha shrine, we will walk through a beautiful path surrounded by 400-year-old cedar trees. The path will exude an almost spiritual feeling of the majesty and power of nature.
It is believed that Togakushi is home to the Togakure School of Ninpo, a group of ninjas with a history of over 800 years. You will see ninja tools on display at the Ninja museum. Togakushi is also well known for soba noodles (buckwheat noodle) and we will sample them during the tour.
At Zenkoji Temple, we will buy a ticket for the kaidan meguri and take the stairs down into the pitch-black crypt passage under the main hall of the temple. If you touch the key below, you will be guaranteed to connect with the pure land.

Takeshi felt like a friend from the very moment he met us in Nagano. He was informative and warm and kind and accommodating. Our time with him in Nagano and Matsumoto were very special.
Thank you for your review. Worried about the typhoon, but I am happy I could show the beautiful nature of Nagano.
Great guide! Very organized, friendly, knowledgeable, easy to talk with.
Jeff-san, I am glad I could guide you the main sightseeing spots in Central Japan. Hope to see you again. Best regards to your family.
Takeshi helped us to enjoy a fabulous day in Nagano with a very special visit to the Snow Monkeys. He was incredibly helpful in adapting to our needs and paced the day perfectly, always checking if we were ok with any small changes or recommendations. As well as the snow Monkey trip, we also visited the Zenkoji Temple which was stunning. Hint.... be there on the hour to hear the Monk ringing the shrine Bell that was also used in the Nagano winter Olympic opening ceremony. Takeshi has very good English skills, and we had no problem chatting with him at length about many topics. We had a truly memorable day and would highly recommend him to any prospective clients
Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked the tour. It was interesting to see mother monkeys with newborn babies. Hope to see you again.
Takeshi is great guide! He gave us very good observation of the major highlights of Tokyo, it’s history and the culture. Takeshi is also a great person - From the time of making our reservation, until the very end, he was very accommodating, flexible, and attending our (unexpected) needs. We highly recommend Takeshi!
I am glad you enjoyed the tour. I hope you continue to have a wonderful time in Japan.
Had a wonderful time with Takeshi. We didn't have much time to spare in Tokyo so we had to be as effecient as possible - Takeshi was happy to craft and alter an itenriary on the day to take to us to as many places as we can see / let us have the rest we need across when needed. Especially appreciated the little things Takeshi assisted with, such as booking lunch / buying Skytree tickets early
Thank you for writing the review. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the day. Especially, I was happy I could show you cherry blossoms at the imperial Palace. Hope to see you again.
