Overview

Meet at Nagano Station, and proceed to the Snow Monkey Park by train (Nagano Dentetsu Line) or by bus. (It will take an hour)
It is necessary to walk through the parking lot for 35 minutes to reach the park. After visiting the Snow Monkey Park, we return to Nagano station. Then, we will move to Zenkoji temple by bus (or taxi). After visiting Zenkoji temple, return to Nagano station.

What to Expect

Over 160 wild Japanese Macaque monkeys inhabit the Snow Monkey Park and the area is a paradise for the monkeys. During winter the monkeys enjoy bathing in the hot spring. The park provides us a rare opportunity for us to watch the Macaque up close and observe their fascinating behavior.
At Zenkoji Temple, we will buy a ticket for the kaidan meguri and take the stairs down into the pitch-black crypt passage under the main hall of the temple. If you touch the key below, you will be guaranteed to connect with the pure land.
Sake tasting is also available for those interested.

“ Gorgeous and quaint Kiso Valley! ”

He chose some wonderful places to visit while we were in Kiso Valley area. Just beautiful country near the Japanese alps, we even got snow in April! Takashi is knowledgable and kind, helping every step of the way with the language barrier. We stayed in a wonderful Ryokan which Takeshi helped me with, and had we know how lovely, would have carved out more time. A paradise for hikers, and just anyone wanting a slower pace, it was most welcome after 5 days in Tokyo. Takeshi was great in every way, even helping with our load of luggage. Note.... there is a service that will forward your luggage to your next stop, so if you choose a sort stay somewhere you can just take a small bag, as most of this area in Japan is antiqated, and full of history .... which is it’s charm.

Takeshi:

Thank you for your review. Also, it became a memorable guiding for me to Kiso valley with snow-fall in April. Hope to see you again.

“ Half day tour of Obuse ”

The tour was everything I hoped for. Takeshi pre-arranged visits to various locations through the town, including a private tour of a miso brewery by the owner. Takeshi's local knowledge and translations made for a memorable tour.

Takeshi:

Thank you for your review. I am glad you liked the tour. Please visit Japan again.

“ Excellent trip to Nagano with Takeshi ”

It was an excellent trip with Takeshi to Jigokudani Monkey Park, Zenkoji temple and nakamise, oyaki tasting, soba lunch, sake tasting, and dinner. Takeshi was very attentive to our needs especially since we come with two kids. He also brought us to a special restaurant for dinner according to our specific request. Overall trip to Nagao is very memorable and this is made possible by Takeshi’s guidance. Takeshi - I hope we have a chance to meet again in the future! Kevin

“ Nagano Tailored Tour ”

Takeshi was an excellent tour guide and gave great suggestions for my family. We took his suggestion to try open-fires oyaki and sake tasting. He was kind and flexible and provided great insight to Japan’s history and culture. We would not been able to cover so many places, and have an awesome day without his help.

Takeshi:

Thank you for your good review. I am glad I could show you the snowy path to the park. Takeshi
