We really enjoyed our day with Kosuke. He took us to many temples, shrines, parks and unique places where tourists don't typically wonder, which provided much more insight into the culture and life in Kyoto. He also took us to Nara even though it was not scheduled because he said it would be a fun place for the girls and he was absolutely right! The extra drive was very worthwhile. Later in the day, we went over time and he did not expect any additional compensation because he truly wanted us to enjoy our time and maximize our experience, but we insisted for all the effort he put in to the tour. He was very flexible and we decided to even skip lunch in order to maximize our tim and he was very amenable to that even though that meant he was also not eating until much later. It was truly a... read more
Kosuke was very helpful and hospitable in every way. On top of the suggested itinerary, he also brought us to some local attractions and souvenir stores (he noticed my family liked looking at local souvenirs). He was knowledgeable about the sights and even helped recommend food and ordering. The transport was comfortable w plenty of space for 6 of us too. Excellent experience and totally worth the money spent!
My sons one like description of Kosuke says it all - "He is a legend!". We a family of 6 traveling with grandparents who are 70+ year old and have problems walking too long/climbing steps. Kosuke created an itinerary catering for everyone and ensured we were dropped off/pickup so walking was minimal. He was "on-it" from the time he picked us up at the hotel and dropped us off. We didn't miss a beat or wasted any time. When we wanted to take a bit more time he was gracious enough to wait and re-organize. We were able to see all the famous sights as well as hidden places were tourists typically don't go. He organized a Japanese vegetarian meal for us so, helped us order according to everyone's tastes and to top it all we had hand-made mango ice-cream which was to die for. Kosuke i... read more
What an amazing tour of Kyoto with Kosuke! He arrived at my hotel a few minutes early for our tour and that was great because I wanted to get a head start on things. He had a clean and comfortable van, was friendly and easy to talk to and spoke English well. I had a couple of places I wanted to visit in Kyoto (Fushimi Inari shrine and Arashiyama bamboo grove) and then left the rest up to him. I told him I preferred going to local places like temples and zen gardens without a lot of crowds. He delivered on all counts. He brought me to Fushimi Inari shrine and Arashiyama bamboo grove and took me off the beaten path, away from most of the crowd. He also brought me to some local temples and zen gardens that had no crowds at all. We had the temples to ourselves so it was lovely to ... read more
Our experience with Kosuke is very pleasant and memorable. KOSUKE is the tour guide/driver/photographer hence a jack of all trades. For starters, he's informative, sociable, friendly (we appreciate his initiative in accomodating our kids), witty, entertaining etc... Making our tour a truly remarkable and unforgetable one. In fact, the next time we will visit Kyoto again, it will be a big honor for us if Mr. Kosuke will be our tour guide. Arigato mr. Kosuke and more power to you.
