KYOTO is like a kinetic art.
The ancient capital has rich flavours of four seasons:
- cherry blossoms in spring,
-riverside restaurants & traditional Gion festival in summer,
- autumn foliage in fall,
- and snow flakes in winter.
Nature colors world-famous temples and shrines with stunning gradations.
In addition to the scenic beauty, all the streets in the city are well-organized like a chess-board. By strolling around these avenues, you can feel the full of historic, traditional, cultural, and academic atmosphere.
In this tour, we will visit UNESCO World Heritage sights, such as:
・KinkakuJi Temple(Golden Pavilion)
("No nail temple" on Higashiyama Hills side)
Other possible suggestions are:
・Fushimi Inari Shrine
(The most popular destination of red Torii gates)

I contacted Ai in early December about a one-day tour of Kyoto with a list of top choices for a customized trip for my group of five (myself, my two young adult children, and their two young adult friends). She got back to me right away with a proposed itinerary and the suggestion that we hire a private car and driver for the day. Ai responded quickly to all my questions during the planning period and met us at our hotel right on time on the day of the tour. Since it was raining on the morning of our tour day, and one of our proposed destinations was closed for the new year's holiday, she suggested some changes to our itinerary, which worked out perfectly. We had a wonderful day visiting Nishiki Market, the Golden Pavilion, Ryoan-Ji Temple, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, and Kyoto Station. Hiri... read more
Dear Virginia, Thanks for having me. It was very fun to enjoy my hometown Kyoto with you, your children, and their friends. Hope to see all of you again next time you come back to Japan. Since Japan will host Tokyo Olympics this summer and World Expo in Osaka in 2025, it would be a good opportunity to come back by a cruise ship so that your husband can join us. Thank you very much once again. your guide, photographer, and new friend, Ai
Ai is an amazing guide , I really enjoyed my time seeing places and exploring with her 👏🏻
Thanks for having me. I really enjoyed Wagyu lunch and exploring around my hometown with you. I hope I can travel with your flight someday in the future. Please keep in touch until then. Thank you very much once again.👏 your first Japanese guide, photographer, and new friend, Ai
Ai was enthusiastic and personable, guiding my family through the major sites of western and southern kyoto. The photos she took were amazing! We learned alot about her culture. Her english is perfect. She made lunch reservations and arranged for a private taxi. We just sat back and enjoyed this beautiful city!
Thanks for having me on the new year day 2020. It was a great pleasure to have new-year shrine and temple visits with such a nice, well-educated, and well-mannered happy family. Enjoy the rest of your journey in Japan, and I hope I can invite you my wedding in the near future! lol your guide, photographer, and new friend, Ai
We had a great day with Ai ! We did not have alot of time and we asked Ai to help us see as much as possible in 1 day. We went all over Kyoto and I'm so glad we had Ai to help us get everywhere . She took amazing photos for us that we will treasure forever. We really enjoyed our time with Ai and getting to know her and Kyoto more. We will miss her ! And we really loved Kyoto :)
Dear Jennifer and her family, Thanks for wringing me such a great review. It was very nice to know one of the happiest families in the world like you. Yes, we were lucky enough to encounter with Maiko-san at Four Seasons Hotel, and other wonderful memories in Kyoto, which shall remain in my heart forever, too. Hope to see you again the next time you have a business trip to Japan and/or your son will become an exchange student to Kyoto University! your guide, photographer, and a new friend, Ai
In her inimitable way, Ai goes beyond the standard “tour guide” role venturing into the realm of a personal travel photographer. Upon our request, Ai escorted us to picturesque locations rarely visited by foreign tourists: even during peak tourist season, in our excursions with Ai we often found ourselves to be the only foreigners traipsing through gorgeous locales! Her command of English is excellent and she is able to tailor a tour to specific requests. Ai spends substantial time and effort photographing her clients in special places, and her prowess and sensibilities are truly appreciated when you receive the beautiful images of these visits - creating lasting memories - which she gifts to you after her tour.
Thank you for wringing me a wonderful review with sophisticated words. It was very nice to meet such a smart, artistic, and brilliant couple. I will keep your book for the rest of my life. Hope to see you and your wife again in Japan and/or in the States.
