This tour is recommended for the first timers to Kyoto. Kyoto had been the capital of Japan for 1000 years and has many old temples and shrines to visit. You can visit three famous and popular sightseeing spots in Kyoto. All of these three places are registered as UNESCO World Cultural Heritage sites.
Feel free to personalize this offer with TOMOE.
Nijyojo Castle: This castle was built in the 17th century and used as the place where the shogun stayed when he visited Kyoto and to watch the Imperial family who lived in Kyoto in those days. You can see the power of Tokugawa shogunate.
Kinkakuji Temple: This temple was built as the villa for the shogun during the 14th century. (Today's structure was rebuilt.) It became a Zen temple and it's a must-see spot in Kyoto.
Ryoanji Temple: This temple was built in the 15th century. You can see the dry landscape garden which doesn't use any ponds or small rivers. It became famous after Queen Elizabeth visited. Please find its ultimate Zen spirit.

We spent several days in Japan and had Tomoe as our guide on our final day of touring. She was amazing and made it our favorite day. She was kind, patient and an overall joy to spend the day with. She was able to show us the sights, share information about the places visited and hold good conversation throughout the day. We felt like we made a new friend in Kyoto and will be sure to connect with her again when we do return.
Dear Davena, Thank you so much for your warmhearted review! I wish I could have more time to spend with you, because you are such nice people. You have a luck to see the inside of Hokando-temple which is rarely opened to public and also, you had a chance to see and take pictures with Maiko at Takashimaya department store!! The hot day which I spent with you became one of my precious memories as a guide. Please come to Kyoto again and let me see you. I love your daughters and miss you all! TOMOE
Had a truly wonderful day with Tomoe in Kyoto. We had specific places that we wanted to see purely based on time restrictions and Tomoe got us everywhere. Although the weather wasn’t great it didn’t take anything away from our busy day. Tomoe is very friendly and easy going and it was a pleasure to have her guide us for the day. Terry is still talking about the conveyor belt lunch!! Thanks again for taking photos for us and giving us a taste of Kyoto - hopefully we’ll come back one day. Kind Regards
Dear Cindy and Terry, Thank you so much for your warmhearted review. You are such a nice couple, so, even it was a rainy day, I enjoyed the day with you very much. ( I told my husband how nice couple you are.) I do hope that you will come back to Kyoto (there are more wonderful places to visit in Kyoto!!) and I can see you again. I miss you! TOMOE
