“ We enthusiastically recommend Yukari ”

In developing a tour for our interests, Yukari advised in advance certain sites closed that day so that we two couples might visit them on our own. Everywhere we went together, walking or by bus - Nagamachi Samaritan District and Nomira-ku House; Museum for Traditional Products and Crafts; Kenroku-en Garden; Higashi Chaya District and Sakuda Gold Leaf - Yukari clearly explained history, context and pointed out details we could not have appreciated without her. The insights she provided definitely added value. Yukari is a lovely person, truly interested in presenting Kanazwa to her guests. She also took us for a delicious Japanese lunch and later for matcha in an historic teahouse. Our tour took longer than anticipated, yet she did not end it at or soon after the appointed time,... read more

Hi Linda-san, Thank you very much for your enthusiastic review! I'm so happy to know that you had enjoyed the tour with me. Also I felt happy while you all were intrested in traditional crafts of Kanazawa or Ishikawa at the Museum. Thank you for asking me a lots of good questions so that I was able to introduce more details of things to you. People from Canada always reminds me of my initial resolution. Hope you enjoy the rest of trip in Japan!!

“ In the pouring rain, we fell in love with Kanazawa ”

It takes a special guide to generate enthusiasm in rain so severe, the government sent a text to everyone’s phone (including ours) to warn of the risk of flooding. Yukari is that guide. She knows her subject really well and articulated some of the cultural and historic context in excellent English. She has a sense of humour and a real love for her home town. A lesser soul might have skipped a few stops given the monsoon but not Yukari; she really cares that her guests see everything and get every last drop (sorry!) from their tour. Kanazawa is a magical place but it is small so guidebooks don’t go into much detail. We got more out of our time with Yukari than we could possibly have achieved on our own. She is utterly charming and we would recommend her very highly indeed. read more

Thank you very much for the review! We managed to fully enjoy the city even in a heavy rain. I really appriciate your kind cooperation. We will never forget this tour because of that warning! I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay in Japan!!

“ Excellent! Especially with kids! ”

From the first time I contacted Yukari san, she was very professional and excellent at customizing our family trip. I mentioned my 5 year old son and she was quick to recommend a couple kid friendly destinations and tour routes. Also we found out that the summer in Kanazawa can get REALLY HOT. Yukari san was quick to make resting stop recommendations along the way when we were getting too tired or our son was being a bit cranky. She was excellent in trying to keep our son interested throughout the tour and even prepared some cute gifts for him as well. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Thank you very much for the review! I appriciate that you all had been trying to enjoy the tour and being so kind even in that much hot day. I 'm sure that special hot day tour had added some spice to our as a unforgettable memories of Kanazawa!
