If you stay in Tokyo, not far from it, there is an ancient capital of Japan, "KAMAKURA" ,which prospered from the end of the 12th century and lasted
150 years. During this period, Buddhism flourished and many temples were
built in KAMAKURA. We'll visit Great Buddha, Hase Kannnon in golden color and Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine which was the gurardian diety of
the 1st Shogun's Family and his men. If time allows and you'll still have the
energy to walk, visit one more place, Kenchou-ji Temple or Engaku-ji Temple,
both are headquarters of Zen sects having architectual beauty.
We started at Tsukiji fish market, then Reiko took us to 2 local temples, where she explained the rituals that happen there. We toured the Tokyo National Museum, Ueno Park, Meiji Shrine, and Harajuku before walking together to Shibuya. She was very knowledgeable and informative and patient with our large group. She helped us navigate the subways and even helped us with our plans and reservations for the rest of our stay in Tokyo. Hire Reiko, and you won't regret it!
We saw many if the great sites within Tokyo thanks to Reiko! She was great at getting us around the city and explaining what the significance of each area was. She has great English and we ended the tour feeling that we had a much better appreciation for Tokyo. Thanks again, Reiko!
We had a great day with Reiko in Tokyo. Thank you Reiko for a very informative tour and for helping us with the train's schedule for the rest of our journey!
