What to Expect

The Kawazu area is in the Izu Peninsula. Kawazu is famous for its early-blooming “sakura” (cherry blossoms) in early spring (early February to early March). The "Cherry Blossom Festival" held during the sakura season is very popular.
Odawara is a castle town developed around the Odawara castle which was originally built at the end of the 15th century. Odawara prospered as one of the biggest post towns of Tokaido in the Edo era. We can visit Hotoku Ninomiya Shrine and look around the traditional shops in the town as well as the castle. Hello! My name is Takeshi. Please call me Tony.

I was born in Tokyo. I worked for Canon for more than 30 years including a 5-year assignment to the U.S. office. Before joining Canon, I received a master's degree in engineering in the United States.

After retiring from the company, I began working as a volunteer guide for foreign visitors in Kamakura and Yokohama.
However, I became fascinated by the beautiful nature of Nagano prefecture and decided to move here to the Yatsugatake Mountains, 1000m above sea level in Nagano last year.
Since then I go out to look at the breathtaking mountains, lakes, and shrines every day. I would like to guide you to these special sites and also share with you the Japanese culture in my guided tours.
I am a Licensed Guide Interpreter in English and a Certified Travel Service Administrator. My hobby is Aikido and I hold the 2nd Dan black belt.
Hope to see you soon.

“ Nagano highlights plus Matsumoto ”

Mr Toni Takeshi is a seasoned guide who is very friendly and resourceful. He brought us around Nagano and to Masumoto and managed to cover the highlights for the day. He even found a very good ramen restaurant Ippudo for my kids who wanted to eat ramen that day. We all enjoyed the tour and the lunch very much. Big Thank you to Mr Takeshi.

“ Excellent guide covering Nagano area ”

Tikeshi was very knowledgeable and made for a very fun day around Nagano. His English is excellent and he was very flexible around my schedule. His insight and conversation made for a great trip. He developed a schedule and then let me stay as long as I needed. He also included an extra sake stop at my request. He was fun and friendly and made my trip great!
