What to Expect

Would you like to become rich in Kamakura? Zeniarai Benten, or Money-washing Benten is a unique place in Kamakura, where you can wash your coins or bills with sacred water of a fountain in a cave. The legend says, if you spend some of the money washed there, it might be doubled! Want to give it a try?
Along with Zeniarai Benten, we will visit Tsurugaoka Hachiman Shrine, which is historically and geographically in the center of Kamakura and one of the most visited shrines in Japan, and Kotokuin Temple, where Great Buddha, a symbol of Kamakura with its original appearence remaining pretty much intact, is waiting for you. And one more spot, Sasuke Inari Shrine with many red torii gates on its approach will take you deep into Kamakura.
On our way visiting those places, we will also enjoy dropping by a variety of souvenir shops on Komachi-dori shopping street and strolling around the quiet residential areas of Kamakura.
As this tour is entirely on foot, wearing a pair of comfortable walking shoes would be recommended on your visit.
Why don't we take a walk and enjoy the serene atmosphere of an ancient capital of Kamakura together!

“ Kamakura tour exceeded expectations, which were already high ”

Kudos to Eri Yusa, our guide, and TripleLights for making our Kamakura tour the best day of our 11 days in Japan. Friends recommended an excursion from Tokyo to Kamakura and we went with that recommendation. We were fortunate, by sheer luck, to find TripleLights and Eri to make our trip so enjoyable and rewarding. Why was it so successful? --The warmth, sense of humor, friendliness and knowledge of Eri; --communication and follow-up from Eri so we could easily take the train from Tokyo to Kamakura and be met at the station by her without any glitches; --selecting the best temples & shrines and other attractions and timing the walking tour so that everything on our agenda was accomplished without hurrying. Crowds were present, but they were easily navigated. --going overtime to accomodate our plans without forcing speed or overlooking any planned stops. Eri and TripleLights are simply the best. You cannot do better in our opinion, and we went on seven different walking tours while in Japan and Hong Kong.

Eri:
Dear George, In front of me now are the photos of you and Lana taken at places we visited in Kamakura. Every one of them makes me happy and remember the enjoyable moment and time of the day. It was so nice meeting you two and I hope the Kamakura tour will be a good memory of your stay in Japan!! Best wishes, Eri

“ Awesome Day in Kamakura ”

We had a great day with Eri in Kamakura. She met us at the train station in the morning and away we went. Eri brought a tremendous amount of knowledge about the history, the architecture and the culture of Japan and Kamakura. We even had discussions about local flowers and plants. We walked back roads and paths that allowed us to have a view of daily life that most tourists don't experience. We gained some wonderful information and perspectives that have made our trip much more enriched. We highly recommend Eri. She brings so much energy and enthusiasm to the day that you feel that you have known each other for years. Our day was awesome. If you want to experience that as well, you need to contact Eri.

Eri:
Dear Mike, I t was so nice meeting you and Suzanne and getting to show you around Kamakura! It seems like even the rain helped us enjoy walking and talking on the way. Especially the soba we had for lunch will be an unforgettable memory with you two in Kamakura. Thank you so very much!

Eri was an excellent local guide for Kamakura. She provided very good historical and spiritual context for the sites we visited. She is also a warm and engaging person who was very welcoming and I found her good company for the day. As a local, she knew the interesting "backstreet" routes to take so we could enjoy the small town charm of Kamakura as well as the major attractions. Highly recommended!

Eri:
Dear Anne, Thank you for such a kind review! I'm so happy to know that you enjoyed the tour. The weather was beautiful and all the greenery was shining under the sun, which made our walking tour even more enjoyable. It was great meeting you and I hope you'll visit Kamakura again, next time with your husband!
