What to Expect

Kamakura used to be the seat of Japan's first military government around the 13th century, which means there are a lot of historical places such as temples and shrines. You can learn what the samurai system is all about and enjoy historical structures, nature and small activities during this tour. Please select three locations except Komachi Street.

1: Kotokuiin Temple is famous for its great image of Kamakura Daibutsu on the national treasure list. You can not only touch the daibutsu but enter inside as well, which is unique to this temple.

2: Hase Temple is nicknamed "flower temple" and famous for Japan's largest wooden image of the goddess of mercy. You can get a great view of the Pacific from the observatory.

3: Tsurugaooka Hachiman Shrine is one of Japan's major hachiman shrines, which is dedicated to Japan's first shogun. You will see colorful and gorgeous shrine buildings, which would make you feel the dignity of the government.

4: Hokokuji Temple is famous for its beautiful bamboo forest and dry landscape garden. It's located in a quiet area and you can enjoy matcha green tea in the bamboo forest.

5: Komachi Street is where you can sample and shop. It's a nice place to find some fun things.

“ 40th Reunion with ERIKO as our guide ”

ERIKO made our 1 day Tokyo tour THE highlight of our Japan trip. She planned out the day efficiently with the sites we wanted to see, using different modes of transportation, as well as added her own touches to make it a special day. We were meeting 2 Japanese friends, that we haven't seen for 40 years.... She communicated well with all of us, and was an active part of the conversation and activities of the day. She had great visual aids. And selected a perfect lunch venue to eat Japanese pancake. The only way to describe our day was WONDERFUL!! We would definitely recommend ERIKO. AND we would definitely hire her again if we get back to Tokyo. The Morton's from Nebraska, USA
