Overview

Kamakura became the capital of Samurai at the end of the 12th century, but also has a valley with huge maples and ginkos, which turn red and golden at the END of NOVEMBER and be the best in DECEMBER.

We will ride a train for approximately an hour or so from Tokyo/Yokohama area to visit there.
You can also enjoy the beautiful twilight seaview.

What to Expect

You can take your time at taking pictures throughout the day, especially at the valley with beautiful maples.
We will WALK a hiking course for approximiately AN HOUR OR SO.

We will also visit the typical temples and shrines in Kamakura.

You can go to see the twilight view from Inamuragasaki, seaside of Kamukura, which I highly recommend.

If you have a certain temple or shrine you're interested in, which is not listed below, please send a message, so I can arrange the itinerary based on your request.

About the shopping options, it is possible to visit the places after visiting the temples/shrines in the evening, because some stores are opened till 19:00.

Nikko and Mount Fuji are approximately two hours on Limited Express from Shinjuku or Asakusa.
Tokyo is not a compact city, but a huge one.

“ I had a 10 hour layover in Tokyo and Yoko took me to the cherry blossoms and a bit of Tokyo ”

Yoko was great a communicating with me before my arrival and she was right on time to meet me at Keisei Ueno station. We only had about 4 and a half hours together and we did a whirlwind tour of the East Gardens and Asakusa Temple. Yoko was very knowledgeable and pleasant. She helped me make the most of the time I had available.

Yoko:

I appreciate your great review, Ms. Kobuke. It was a great pleasure for me to enjoy the Sakuras with you on such a beautiful day. I had a lot of fun talking with you and hearing your interesting stories. I will be waiting for you coming next time soon with your daughters. Thank you again for everything.^_^

“ Nice day at Nikko. ”

Yoko was our guide at Nikko. She know the site and its hystory perfectly and I would highly recomend her if You like to find out much about the places You are visiting. The trip logistis was also very well organized.

Yoko:

Thank you so much for a quick review, sir. I enjoyed the day together with all of you, nice gentlemen with lovely ladies, yesterday. We were lucky with the weather and also could see a special festival. We saw Kegon Waterfalls, Lake Chuzenji, Shinkyo Bridge, Rinouji Temple Sanbutsudo, Toshogu Shrine, Futarasan Shrine where the festival was going on, Taiyuin Temple, and Kanmangafuchi Abyss. I listed for your friend, Saulius, who will make a slideshow with the thousands of pictures he took. I hope you would enjoy the rest of your trip and wishing to see you soon at another season. Thank you again for everything.

“ Tokyo Trip ”

Fantastically knowledgeable guide. She knows her work and her clients. Kept us actively involved in all the activities. She is bubbly, fun and helpful. Our kids aged 19 and 12 enjoyed her company. We only spent a day with her but she guided usdor the rest of our stay. Definitely recommend her to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Yoko:

Thank you so much for a wonderful review, sir. I had a great time with you and your family: I enjoyed talking a lot with your beautiful and intelligent wife Rashmie and your amazing kids. I also appreciate Rashmie reacting quite well to what I said, which made every explanation easier for me. I hope you would enjoy the rest of your journey through Japan and wish to see you and your family soon again. Have fun, sir!!

“ Highly competent guide ”

It is obvious how well Yoko knows Tokyo when one spends a day with her. She guided us safely and efficiently through the transportation system, allowing us to see more than we thought possible in a day. She provided interesting information about the sites, and paid attention to our interests when choosing where to go. Yoko planned our time around mobility challenges my husband faces, and handled an emergency quickly and professionally, adapting our plans to accommodate. She went beyond what was required to be sure we enjoyed our time, and continued to be of assistance even after our tour was complete. I highly recommend Yoko.

Yoko:

I appreciate your excellent review so much, Sandra. It was a great pleasure meeting you even though I couldn't laugh to Mike's jokes as you could. It was very nice of your daughter and husband planned the trip to Japan as a birthday surprise and I'm very glad that I could help you enjoy the most beautiful season of Sakura. You're so cheerful that I enjoy being with you. I hope you could enjoy the rest of your trip. Thank you again, Yoko

“ Sakura tour of Tokyo with tea ”

We (a family of three with two teenagers) had a great sunny day with Yoko exploring Tokyo's treasures on our first trip to Japan. She met us at our hotel in Tsukiji and showed us the East Gardens of the Imperial Palace and then took us to Yanaka for a traditional macha tea ceremony and a lovely Japanese lunch and more. We learned all about the sakura and lots about the samurai, shogunate and Buddhism as well as about the imperial family and post-war reconstruction of Japan. Yoko is very knowledgeable and speaks good English with an American accent. She has strong opinions and is not afraid to express those.

Yoko:

Thank you for your review, but going to Kyoto without booking your hotel during April sounds extremely challenging. We know it will be difficult to go from Hakone to Mount Fuji is really hard unless you have vehicles. It's a fact. So it might be better to take your time at Hakone. Enjoy the rest of your stay.
