Overview

I selected three Buddhist temples and one Shinto shrine carefully as must-see sights of Kamakura for one day visitors. I'm warm-hearted guy with excellent guiding skills and much experience. I'm sure you will go back to your hotel with a look of satisfaction after the tour.
I am looking forward to meeting you.

What to Expect

At Engakuji temple,
a) You can enjoy the beauty of nature and feel the atmosphere of the austerity of Zen Buddhism.
b) you can see a statue of crowned Sakyamuni in a sitting position.
c) you can enjoy powdered green tea with Japanese confectioneries.(extra money 500 yen )
d)you can see two national treasures. The oldest Zen sect-style building and biggest temple bell in Kanto district(Tokyo and its surrounding areas)

At Tsuruoka Hachimangu shrine
a) If you are lucky, you may be able to have a chance to see Japanese wedding ceremonies held on the stage called Maiden.
b) You can buy a lucky charm "Omamori" which differ in shape and cover a whole range of our daily life.
(Omamori of "Hello Kitty character" for your health can be bought there for 800 yen.)
c) There is a museum in the precincts of this shrine, which exhibits artifacts and works of art such as calligraphy, paintings and sculptures .

On Komachi-dori street. The most popular shopping area in Kamakura,
There are a variety of shops and eating places standing side by side along the street. It is very fun to stroll down this street, looking for nice souvenirs.

At Hasedera temple,
a) you can see fine view of Kamakura as well as the ocean shimmering in the sunlight.
b) You can see a 9.18 meter-tall gilded Kannon Bodhisattva which is one of the largest wooden statues in Japan.
c) you can enjoy viewing beauty flowers in all season.

At Kotokuin temple,
You can see the Great Buddha. Biggest tourist attraction in Kamakura.
He has been sitting there for more than 750 years.
It will be a great memory if you take a picture of you with the Great Buddha in the background.
