What to Expect
This tour is aimed for visiting the must-see spots and enjoying walk on streets in Kamakura.
You visit Kotokuin Temple (Great Buddha, only a natural treasure in Kamakura), Hasedera Temple and Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. They are spots representing Kamakura.
Great Buddha, a 13-meter-high bronze statue in Kotokuin Temple, is a symbol of Kamakura.
Hasedera Temple especially is famous for its beautiful flowers with its 11-headed gold Goddess of Mercy.
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine is the guardian shrine of Minamoto clan,the ruler of Kamakura Shogunate, and Kamakura has developed making it as its center.
You also visit Eishoji Temple and Jufukuji Temple.
Eishoji Temple has a beautiful bamboo forest .
Jufukuji Temple has the tomb of Masako Hojo, the wife of Minamoto Yoritomo in its graveyard.
You walk on Kaigandori Street, Onaridori Street, and Komachidori Street.
Kaigan-dori Street is a street linking Hase and Kamakura, which is the least populated and down-to-earth street among those streets. You walk through a Japanese
sword shop or walk near the Enoden Line.
Onaridori Street is a street loved by locals. You can enjoy walking in more relaxed manners.
Komachidori Street is always bustling with people. It has all kinds of shops such as fashionable restaurants and cafes, traditional sweets shops and souvenir shops.
It's is a compact walking tour, but the participants can fully experience the old and present Kamakura.
