Overview

Kamakura is a popular tourist destination about an hour train ride away from Tokyo, having various historical sites such as temples and shrines. It also has natural beauty, surrounded by mountains and sea, and also many attractive small shops and restaurants. We walk around the city, dropping in at popular spots, hidden sites, and neat shops on the main and back streets - like locals do.

This tour can be customized according to your request.
Kamakura is roughly categorized into 6 areas. I recommend choosing 1 to 2 areas for a half-day tour.
Based on you interest, I can include an activity - Hiking – walking in mountain trails for about 60 minutes.
Please let me know your requests in advance. I’ll take it consideration into making an itinerary.
Please feel free to ask if you have any questions.

“ A wonderful introduction to Tokyo ”

Aki was a very well informed and considerate guide. We were very appreciative of his wealth of knowledge about Tokyo and his willingness to accommodate our queries. By the end of our tour we felt Aki had provided us with sufficient information to give us confidence to venture out the following days on our own exploration of Tokyo. Aki was at all times polite, well informed and good company during our first venture in Tokyo.

“ Meeting with Aki was like meeting an old friend ”

Aki was great. He planned an excellent day tour for us, taking into account our two young children, ensuring that we all had a great time. It took almost no time to get comfortable with Aki as our guide, and as we talked during our train ride from Yokohama to Tokyo, it felt like we were catching up with an old friend. I highly recommend Aki to anyone touring Tokyo or Yokohama, especially families.

Aki:

“ Tokyo & Kamakura ”

We were a group of 6 for Tokyo tour and 4 for Kamakura. Aki is a good guide; very patient, polite and professional. He knows the subject matter and explains well; sometimes we wished he gave us more details or background history. He gave us an excellent orientation of the subway stations and how the Japanese rail system worked. We wished he did a better of job of time management. Eg. in Tokyo, the Imperial Palace which was the first place we visited we spent too much time; actually you can do this without a guide and at Kamakura we again spent too much time at the first sight Engakuji temple; as a result we then had to rush around. Also Aki should have done a better research for taking us for lunch; because when lunch time came, we had to scramble and look for restaurants and in Tokyo... read more

Aki:

Dear Pervin, Thank you so much for giving me a kind review. I understand your disappointment. I realize that I need to be more sensitive to your expectations. Please accept my apology. Sincerely, Aki
