The tour starts with Japan's countryside view from a local train. Then a 20 minute ferry boat ride will take you to Naoshima.

Naoshima Art Project includes two major art museums in the Beach Area, and Ando Museum & art houses in the old Village Area. Chichu Art Museum is a unique museum constructed mostly underground in order not to ruin the outside view. It was designed by Ando, and artworks of Claude Monet, Walter de Maria, James Turrell are exhibited. Benesse House Museum was also designed by Ando, and you can see contemporary works of Jasper Johns, Jean Michel Basquiat, David Hockney, et al. As you go around the island you'll also encounter some outdoor objet d'art such as red and yellow pumpkins created by Yayoi Kusama.

Wish to have time to relax and appreciate art? Then won't you join the tour to Naoshima?

“ Best Guide in Naoshima to learn A to Z ”

Mari has been an essential help for our trip in Naoshima from the beginning (when we started to design the itinerary) to the end of the trip. She has helped more than enough on every preparation step, discussing what would be the ideal option for us. Also, she has kindly recommended the best places and restaurants to visit according to her local expertise. During the trip, all the guests were very impressed by her kindness and spent a wonderful time. Whenever there was a small issue, Mari suggested a solution with great responsibility. Therefore we deeply appreciate her professional and generous help throught our stay in Naoshima.

Dear Joohyun, Thank you so much for your review comments. I had a great time with the group myself. I was thankful for their sincere attitudes to appreciate artworks and to learn about Japanese culture. During the preparation period before the tour, I also enjoyed communicating with you on every little thing, and I thank you for your patience and generousity. Thank you again for giving me such an opportunity. Please give my best regards to everyone in the group. Mari

“ Naoshima Art Island Adventure ”

Mari is simply the best especially if you are considering visiting Naoshima otherwise known as the Art Island in the Inland Sea of Japan. From Shinkansen to one local train to a second local train to a ferry to a public bus to a museum bus Mari led us to the adventures of this incredible island. Believe me I needed a guide to navigate the complex process of getting there and it is worth the effort if you are interested in modern art and a peaceful island. Mari was so considerate of accommodating our special interests even as we were traveling. Mari takes that extra step to ensure our journey went well. Hiring Mari for a day of adventure at Naoshima is unforgettable.

Dear Kurt, Arigato-gozaimasu for your nice review comments and so quickly. Yes, it was a long journey, but I enjoyed having you and your mother and showed you a completely different place from Kyoto or Tokyo. I'm glad you picked Naoshima on your adventure tour to Japan. Let me add you communicated very well with the Japanese men on the local train back to Okayama! Mari

“ Glad for this opportunity to see Naoshima ”

Mari is very pleasant, and I'm glad to have found her as a guide. I really wanted to go to Naoshima even though it is a bit of a journey from Osaka as a day trip, and was very happy to see her offer this trip. Not many offer this tour. She made things easier than if I tried to do this trip on my own within a short amount of time. We went to visit the major highlights around the island, and she was kind enough to check on crowds and reserve museum ticket in advance. After spending a day here, I'd love to come back to Naoshima if I get a chance.

Dear Betty, Thank you so much for your kind review. I'm glad to know you enjoyed the trip although it was a long way from Osaka. Looking at art works and experiencing complete darkness in one of the art houses with you was very interesting, and I thank you for that. I only wished we had had more time in the island. I hope you will return to Naoshima on your next visit to Japan! Mari

Mari was awesome! Especially since we were probably the worst group! First of all, we booked it so late! We only started talking to her 2 days before our planned trip, and she still accommodated us. Also, we had many requests that she was able to accommodate as well. 1. She helped us book a private van for 4 on very short notice, and it was a relatively good price too. 2. I mentioned that my mother and father can't walk too far, as they are quite old. She was able to come up with a great itinerary with not too much walking, and then she asked the driver to drop us off and pick us up in areas that would reduce the walk. That was very helpful of her. She was very pleasant, spoke great English and was overall a great guide to be with. I wish we booked her longer than just half a day. We would definitely try to book her as a guide again next time we're in Japan. Thank you so much Mari for a great experience and hope to see you again soon! :D

Hi Artie, Thank you so much for your great review comments. I'm happy to know you enjoyed Osaka Half Day Tour though it was a last minute arrangement. It was my great pleasure to have you and your family; I had such a nice time talking with your parents, and of course with you and your lovely wife. I look forward to seeing you all again on your next trip to Japan! Mari

Mari was a pleasure to be with all day. She was very attentive to what we wanted from the shopping tour. She tried her best to bring us to what we wanted to buy. Lunch was a great experience eating Okonomiyaki where we had to cook ourselves. We had a few laughs trying to flip the pancake over to its other side. I couldn't recommend Mari more. She is patient and eager to please. Thanks Mari for being a great guide. Regards, David and family

Hi David, Thank you for your review comment. I myself had a great time with you and your family. I'm pleased to know you enjoyed shopping and Okonomiyaki lunch in Osaka. Please say hi to your mom and auntie for me. Looking forward to seeing you again, Mari
